What is Worth Choosing: The Patty-and-Platter Perfection
What makes Kingston Bakery Harlem a standout choice in the fiercely competitive New York food scene is its dual expertise: excelling at both bakery staples and cooked Caribbean cuisine. For the local user, the place is worth choosing for two main reasons: the legendary Beef Patty with Coco Bread and the deeply satisfying Oxtail Platter. The patties are consistently rated among the best, lauded for their flaky crust and flavorful filling, making for an unparalleled quick bite or small plate.
However, the full cooked meals, such as the Oxtail or Jerk Chicken, offer a more substantial experience, with richly flavored meat and savory gravy—though it's wise to request extra gravy for that perfect rice and peas ratio! The convenience of a truly casual, counter-service setting means you don’t sacrifice time for quality. For New Yorkers craving an authentic, affordable, and quick dose of Caribbean flavor, particularly from a proudly Black-owned and women-owned business, Kingston Bakery Harlem on 145th Street offers a cultural and culinary experience that is simply top-tier. Be sure to explore their fresh baked goods, as a slice of Bread Pudding or a Spiced Bun provides the perfect traditional end to a flavorful meal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Did an online order and food was ready very quickly. love the building itself , the art is beautiful. I ordered a regular sized oxtail and the meat was dry; it wasn’t as flavorful as I expected it to be. The gravy was good and I enjoyed the rice & peas. The food was HOT. I traveled to 34st and it was still warm. I see that the majority of reviews are great, so I will give them another try!
May 14 · Raquel KOrdered a Small Oxtail and a Beef Patty.Originally, I was just going to get the Small Oxtail, but while waiting in line, I saw the reviews regarding the beef patties and I had to add that. I am so glad that I did. It was one of the most flavorful beef patties I’ve had.The Oxtail was great too. Though, I was a bit underwhelmed by the actual amount of meat on the pieces. Like, I had like three pieces that actually had no meat on them. As a result, I was left with a great deal of rice leftover with no oxtail to have it with (and I was doing a bit of oxtail with rice every bite). The woman was also individually picking the pieces, sooooo….. Regardless, the oxtail itself was really good.I would definitely go again just because of flavor, but would ask them to put a bit more oxtail gravy as well as meatier pieces.
May 24 · Mehedi AhasanSo I was going up the block I’ll leave that review for them and I saw this place Kingston bakery did a U-turn and went in asked for a beef patty at 10am then said they don’t have I was a bit disappointed, but they had chicken patties, so I took one of those at $4 it wasn’t cheap for a patty. But lord ooooo lord it was jammed packed and delicious. I was surprised to say the least. I couldn’t believe the flavor bomb it was seasoned great spicy I added hot sauce after a few bits of course but it didn’t need it. The patty itself wasn’t flaky and I expected that from a patty but after the first bit I didn’t mind at all this is hands down one of the best in the city and you guys sound definitely try it. I’ll be back to taste the full patty list and try other things to update this review. Can’t wait to return.Ok now I had the beef patty and this is hands down the best patties in the areaThey beat the other spot hands down filled up and tasty 😋 anytime I want a patty I will be coming hereService is still the same not great but who cares you just ordering 😂 atmosphere is just that 😂 it’s okIt’s a bit outta my way but for those in the area and want a patty definitely won’t be disappointed. Thanks for the follows I truly appreciate it hope this review helps you guysIG @imbroke_eats & @imbroke_rob
June 20 · ImBroke RobI fell for the 4.8 rating and decided to disregard the overall bad feeling that I got as soon as I walked into the store.I don’t know what I did to offend the person that was getting me food, but he definitely hated me just for being there. The food was not fresh at all and it was cold when I opened it; the portion was 85% rice and beans and the rest was curry that was half bones; oh and no plantains…. I was surprised by how bad it was across the board considering all the great reviews this place had, so I had to go see other bad reviews and sure enough, another lady had exact same experience as I did a few weeks ago (except she had plantains haha), but whomever is running the place decided to double down and insult her taste, instead of apologizing. It’s a shame, considering I’ve been eyeballing this place for a while and since it has such high rating, it will surely get plenty other innocent customers who will not bother looking at the bad reviews.
May 21 · illy A.I only ordered the beef patties with coco bread and one of their natural juices—the passion fruit and watermelon flavor. The patty and coco bread was amazing, and the juice was really good as well
