For the New Yorker making the journey to this destination bakery, these are the items that are absolutely worth choosing:
The Signature Savory: Chorizo and Cheese Pastry. This unique creation, praised by a local as "so unique and can’t get it anywhere else," is a must-try. This savory item, often featured as a pastry or within the Apero Baguette (a soft demi-baguette with chorizo baked right in), is the perfect balance of flaky dough, rich cheese, and spicy chorizo, making for a truly memorable Quick bite or Breakfast.
The Traditional Treat: The Croissant. The classic Croissant and its variations, such as the Almond Croissant or the generous ham and cheese croissant (which, at a price of $9, is noted as a perfect "treat yourself" item), are flawless. Made with imported French butter, the flakiness and deep butter flavor are an authentic taste of France. Pair it with a cup of their Coffee for the quintessential morning experience.
The Health-Conscious Loaf: The Pavé Loaf. If you're looking for an everyday bread that prioritizes health without sacrificing flavor, the Pavé Loaf is the choice. Its 96-hour fermentation makes it a low-gluten option that is easier to digest, all while providing the complex taste of artisan organic bread.
The Small Indulgence: The Financier. For a smaller, moist, and delicious treat, choose the Financier. This delicate almond teacake (or the blueberry variation) is an excellent choice for those wanting a sweet companion without committing to a larger pastry.
The Weekend Splurge: Gourmet Cheese and Butter. Enhance your bread and pastry experience by adding a selection from their imported French gourmet items. A half-pound of super creamy Brie Double Crème or a slab of churned Beurre de Baratte will transform your purchase into a full, authentic French petit déjeuner or picnic, solidifying La Bicyclette Bakery's reputation for providing Brooklyn with the very best of artisanal French food culture.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you want absolute freshness, deliciousness, and food without additives, this place is for you. All made fresh daily, note that they close early at 1 pm or sooner if sold out. Bread is simply heaven in the mouth, and their choice of pastry, varying each day slightly, is an absolute must-have. I go there on weekends, drive quite a distance, and was never ever disappointed. Staff is amazing. Don't get discouraged if the line is long. It moves fairly fast. Prices are fair, not overpriced, for the quantity you get for sure. There is no question that I will stop driving there on weekends a long distance for the best taste, authentic French deliciousness. Note; check their ours and days they are open.
June 01 · Erik LGreat addition to the neighborhood! I’ve been a few times and have enjoyed everything. My favorite pastry has been their savory chorizo and cheese pastry. So unique and can’t get it anywhere else. The most recent time I tried their ham and cheese croissant and a blueberry financier. Both were excellent. The croissant was $9 so definitely something great if you want to treat yourself :).Will be back many many times.
March 19 · April IngenitoBeing from Belgium and Married to a French person, we had to come here after we saw the Parisien's documentary and glad to say that we were not disappointed. Everything was crazy good and worth the two hourz commute. And the staff is super nice ❤️
August 17 · Lemercier SteveThe cutest little bakery with the most authentic Parisian pastries and bread.I got the Brie, fig jam, and arugula sandwich and WOW so freaking good. I air fried it for 2 minutes the next day and it was still perfect. My friend and I also shared an almond chocolate croissant and firework did go off in my brain. If you’re gluten free try the Pave bread!Highly recommend!
August 19 · Maddie PivonkaI love it but feel like the quality of the pâte feuilletée has decreased since last year. The croissants and chocoroulés used to be flaky, kind of crunchy. Now they are consistently very soft (tout mou!), as if the external dough was humidWe stopped buying viennoiseries here for that reason, but still come regularly for the bread and baguette (which has improved, was overcooked in the past)We would not mind paying a bit more if the quality if basic viennoiseries can come back. We'd rather have a perfect croissant or pain au chocolat for $5 or $6 than an average one for $4. We also don't care for the myriad of fancy new flavors of viennoiseries, we prefer the basics to be excellent
