Leovin Introduce
Leovin is a truly special destination for anyone in the New York region—especially in and around Rockland County—seeking a taste of authentic Salvadoran cuisine. Located in Garnerville, NY, Leovin offers a warm, casual, and cozy atmosphere that makes every visitor feel right at home. It’s more than just a place to eat; it's a culinary journey to Central America, specializing in the rich, comforting flavors of El Salvador. Whether you are craving the national dish of El Salvador, a hearty breakfast to start your day, or a satisfying dinner with family, Leovin provides a high-quality, friendly dining experience that locals cherish and new visitors quickly come to love. The restaurant is celebrated for its fantastic value and generous portions of Salvadoran classics and other Latin-inspired dishes.
The cornerstone of Salvadoran cooking, and a clear highlight at Leovin, is the Pupusa. These are thick, hand-made corn tortillas traditionally stuffed with savory fillings and grilled until golden. Customers consistently praise Leovin's pupusas, which are essential comfort food. Popular fillings include Cheese; Pork, Cheese & Beans (known as Mix or Revuelta); Beans & Cheese; and Cheese with Loroco (an edible vine flower bud native to Central America). These are traditionally served with Curtido—a tangy, slightly fermented cabbage slaw—and a mild red salsa, offering a delightful blend of textures and flavors. For those who enjoy a bit of heat, there are also "Fuego" options available featuring jalapeño, habanero, or serrano peppers.
Beyond the famous pupusas, the menu is extensive, covering everything from morning to night. The breakfast selection is particularly robust, featuring staples like the Guanaco breakfast (a substantial plate likely including Salvadoran sausage, eggs, plantains, beans, and fresh cheese, drawing on the colloquial term for a Salvadoran person) and various egg preparations like the Supreme, Victor's, Home, and American Breakfasts, alongside items like the Burrito, Parfait Yogurt, and Western Omelet. For the main meals, the "Entrées" section showcases a variety of grilled meats, seafood, and hearty stews, such as Sautéed Onion Beef, Churrasco With Flour Tortilla, Grilled Steak, Chicken Milanese, Shrimp In Garlic Sauce, and the impressive Sea And Earth dish. Lighter options, like the Greek, Green, and Caesar Salads (with or without Chicken), are also available.
Appetizers include flavorful choices like Ceviche, Wings With Fries, the unique Torta Leovin, and Salvadoran favorites like Garnachas, Enchiladas, and of course, Tamales. Soups are also a comforting feature, with choices of Chicken, Seafood, Fish, and Beef soup—perfect for any time of year. To complete the meal, refreshing traditional Salvadoran drinks such as Horchata (often made with ground morro seeds or rice, cinnamon, and vanilla), Cantaloupe, Tamarindo, Marañón, Pineapple, and Passion Fruit beverages are available.

June 29 · Bernabe LopezPapusaria of papusarias here in Rockland. The prices are hard to beat and the food is always hot. We eat or order from here at least twice a month as a family. If you're on a budget and also want to impress this is a great spot. Not a lot of searing but 100 percent family vibes. Very nice staff.
August 17 · Captain HitzWe had chicken enchiladas salvadorean style which had cooked chicken and potatoes on corn tortilla and got a side of hot chile peppers and then hubby had meatcakes beef with delicious thick salvadorean style corn tortillas and rice.
