★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A new favorite; loved everything from the food, service, and vibe. The place is quite spacious with some booth seating at the front and high tops at the back; there’s also a bar and some standing room. The Jambon Beurre plate was delicious and would be great to share, but I thoroughly enjoyed it all on my own; the butter is sweet, but works nicely with the salted radishes and ham. The fried chicken sandwich is also delicious, covered in a glaze. There may only be one dessert on the menu, but it’s fantastic… the chocolate has a touch of salt and balances well with the whipped cream.
August 14 · Aja BrandmanHad a super pleasant experience here. Nice neighborhood vibe, simple but interesting food menu. Doesn't feel like it's trying to be so upscale like some of the wine bars these days. Prices were reasonable and both the broccolini and fried chicken sandwich were great. My only feedback is I think the slaw on the chicken sandwich was a little overpowering. It's fairly sweet and the amount of slaw partially limited my ability to taste the fried chicken (which I know had great taste)
September 16 · Michael SmartLiar Liar is a great new natural wine bar with character, local vibes, and a small yet underrated dinner menu. We chatted with the bartender for the first few minutes, who recommended some of their great French wines and shared the bar’s history. It’s clear the team put their heart into this remodel from the former bones of Victor, which closed in 2024. The space has a bold new design including updated booths, bar, and table seating that feels native to the neighborhood. We had the burger and Caesar salad which were both great value for price, but the real sleeper hits were the orange wine and fried chicken sandwich. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Will be back for the steak frites soon.
August 11 · Neil SchlothWasn’t a huge fan of the wine glass selections BUT the martinis and food was incredible. We had the steak frites and chicken burger, followed by their chocolate mousse desert - all exceptionally delicious. Price was very reasonable. Atmosphere is great and would highly recommend a visit.
September 19 · Jo KimOkay I’m still dreaming about the steak and the glass of red wine that I got. And I don’t even eat red meat usually. Vibes out of this world. Staff is so nice. Gabi one of the owners served us and she was so knowledgeable about wines helping me pick out a perfect pair for my food. Cute spot for a first date or to yap with the girls. Definitely will be back soon.
