Just leaving lupita's. Have been here multiple times without issues. Food/atmosphere is fine for the area. Service was fine until this particular experience. Service was honestly the worst I have had in nyc in 3 years. Server did not place the right order with the kitchen. We explained the proper order, 5 minutes later the server took the wrong order away, no discussion, yanked the food off of the table. Then proceeded to bring the proper order 5-10 minutes. Without a discussion, the server stated, you need to be more specific and dropped the food on the table, then left. I cant remember a more disrespectful encounter with any server in any restaurant. The manager of this establishment should be ashamed of how they were represented.

I was visiting a friend in the area and we wanted to eat Mexican food. The food here was good for the price, compared to other places in NY where everything is expensive, this place was nice, they serve good portions, and the food was very good and the service was excellent.

I just loved it. I am from Texas, and I've been pretty disappointed by Mexican food options in NYC. But, the quality and the value that Lupitas bring to the table are applaudable. Highly recommend enchiladas de mole.
