Lupo Rosso Introduce
For New Yorkers craving a taste of authentic Italian pizza and comfort food, Lupo Rosso stands out as a hidden gem in Long Island City. Located at 43-69 11th St, Long Island City, NY 11101, this establishment is a must-visit for pizza lovers. Specializing in Neapolitan-style pizza, Lupo Rosso takes pride in its meticulous approach to pizza-making. Their dough is made in-house daily from imported flour and naturally leavened over three days, a traditional method that few pizzerias still follow. The core of their operation is a custom Stefano Ferrara wood-burning oven, hand-built in Naples, Italy, using volcanic lava ash from Mount Vesuvius. This unique oven gives their pies a distinctive flavor and a perfect crust.
While pizza is the main event, Lupo Rosso offers a full menu of delicious Italian dishes. You can start your meal with classic appetizers like Sicilian Rice Balls (Arancini) or House Made Meatballs, or choose from a selection of fresh salads. The main event, of course, is the pizza, with an extensive list of options ranging from the classic Margherita Pizza to more adventurous creations like the LIC Heat Pizza and the Shroom Bloom Pizza. They also offer a variety of desserts and a full bar, with a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails.
The atmosphere at Lupo Rosso is described as both casual and cozy, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal with friends, a solo dining experience, or a fun outing with the family. The restaurant also prides itself on fast service, ensuring you can get your pizza fix without a long wait, whether you're dining in or ordering for delivery.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The pizza was decent but very burnt at the bottom such that our fingers were black just from holding it. The sauce wasn’t that spicy, it’s just the jalapeños that add the kick. I wouldn’t necessarily go back for it.
September 04 · L.I order delivery from here when I have people over and it never disappoints! The pizza, wings and salad are all delicious- they have so much variety and different side dishes aside from the pizza. We got- broccoli rabe & spicy sausage, arugula and prosciutto, margerita and meat lovers (not pictured). Wings, dry and 1 buffalo. Goat cheese & ceaser salad. Food came hot, fresh and on time! I highly recommend this place! Plus, they sometimes do deals- 2 for 1 margerita pizzas!!
May 31 · Donatella SportellaI got a gluten free four cheese pizza and a regular honey pepper pizza for a large group and its one of the best pizzas I've ever had. It's so hard for find gluten free options so I had to take the time to write a review. We've decided this will be our hangout spot because of the great service with attention to detail and food. The blood orange soda was to die for, I ordered it four times lol. Highly recommend stopping by this spot, especially if you exclusively eat gluten free! Thank you for making this a memorable spot for me and my friends. We'll be back next week💜💜💜
August 29 · Abby JensenOrdered a pizza and 6-piece buffalo wings. The pizza was ok, tasted a bit dry for my liking and did not have enough sauce. The wings came with both ranch and blue cheese which I appreciated, however the wings tasted off and undercooked. You kind of just know when something isn't right with the food. Just a few hours later my friends are vomiting after also complaining about the wings. I threw out the remaining pieces. On the upside, service was prompt, no issues there however I won't be coming back here.Update 2/23/25:I want to share this experience as a warning to others. After eating here, our group became severely ill. When I left an honest review, the pizzeria responded by claiming there were no records of my visit—despite the fact that I ordered there last weekend. It’s hard to understand why they would make such a false claim, but it seems like an attempt to avoid accountability. Here's a picture of the order that made us sick. Hands down, the worst pizza and wings I've ever had.
February 23 · Rodney Echevarria12/23/24 it is no longer a cozy eatery as it is only take away and delivery. Thought we would sit for lunch today and found out that isn’t an option. Also they have no restroom. Ordered the carnivore pizza with only sausage and skipped the pepperoni. Very little basil lots of sausage but small crumbled bits that ran down and off the pizza as we ate it. It tasted good and crust was good too. Only six little chairs inside in front of window and heaters I guess to make waiting acceptable. It was good pizza and maybe 4.25 but not a 5. I’ll try again next time in the neighborhood.
