★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Beautiful cafe shop in the area. I got a Buddha Bowl from here and it was so delicious. I ended up taking it home and microwaving it. It had brown rice on the bottom and everything paired so well. Glad to know there are healthy options in the area. When i was checking out the barista said they also did happy hour at 5pm and i was shocked because i didn’t expect them to have liquor. They had menu to accommodate breakfast lunch or dinner
May 01 · MarshaI go to this place at least three times a week. I love Mae Mae. The service is wonderful and the food is delicious. The cherry on top is the affordable pricing! I cannot describe how joyful it is to eat food that leaves you full, but not feeling heavy, and not steep for your pockets. I recommend to everyone at work and now the internet! Please come by and enjoy :)
October 16 · Carlos RamirezI love this place. Have been here twice so far during restaurant week and I’m going to make my return visit. I had the opportunity to meet the owner and she is absolutely pleasant and very much open to feedback. The chef and 2 other staff members were a delight to talk to. Food is very flavorful and I like that they switch up the menu. I wish they had better dessert options is why I gave a 4 star rating.I’ve been here 3 times and the new menu additions are A++. I ordered ALL of the sides along with the harvest salad, the vegan hot chocolate, and a new addition to the pastries. Everything was very flavorful and delicious. Looking forward to going back next month. I missed the free plant offer this year. That was a nice touch during the previous restaurant week.Ms Halene and Elijah thank you for making this visit one to remember and leave a 5 star review about!
April 02 · Vanessa SMae Mae Cafe is an all vegan eatery located beside the third ave bridge in the Bronx. They offer their kitchen foods, as well as to go meals, dessert and LOTS of plants for purchase. I ordered the falafel bowl, a side of jollof rice, pinto empanada and a blueberry banana dessert. For the falafel platter, they give you a good amount of falafel balls and the platter is filled to the top! The jollof rice has a spicy kick to it and personally, it was my favorite food item on the menu. The pinto empanada was hot and ready and included their freshly blended green sauce. The blueberry banana dessert tasted like a cake formed into a muffin. It pairs great with a side of milk of your choice. They do have a Restaurant Week menu, so be sure to check them out. Overall, the food was good and I would definitely recommend this plant-based cafe!
January 31 · Wali GFriendly service, unique flavors, and freshly cooked food. I am not a vegan and didn’t notice that the food was vegan. I had a sandwich with winter vegetables - cabbage and sweet potato. I also had the arroz con coco (so delicious) and another pudding with nuts and raisins that I also found very filling and scrumptious. The place is cozy with tables although I didn’t see outlets so I don’t think it’s good for remote work. I would definitely go back! And there’s a great waterfront park just down the block if you want to take your food to go.
