What is worth choosing
Choosing MEILI 沉香 is about opting for a contemporary, high-energy Chinese dining experience that is difficult to replicate elsewhere in the city. The reasons to choose this Williamsburg institution are manifold, extending beyond the impressive menu and into the atmosphere and unique offerings. For the discerning New York diner, MEILI 沉香 delivers on several key value propositions.
First and foremost is the *elevated culinary focus*. While the restaurant serves the foundational comfort food expected of a quality Chinese spot (like Kung Pao Chicken and Pork Wonton Soup), it truly shines with its signature Szechuan-focused dishes. The boldness and complexity of Szechuan flavors—the heat of the chili, the tingle of the peppercorns—are present in staples like Chungking Spicy Chicken*** and Twice Cooked Pork**. Moreover, the inclusion of premium, unique entrees like Ma Po Lobster*** and Truffle Beef Tenderloin* demonstrates a commitment to a sophisticated, market-leading menu that sets it apart from typical Chinese takeout, making it a destination for culinary adventure.
Secondly, the *atmosphere and amenities* are unparalleled in the local area. The promise of rooftop seating and live music immediately transforms the dining experience from a simple meal into an event. This blend of a trendy, chic dining room with the casual energy of Williamsburg makes it an attractive hub for groups and date nights. The dedicated bar onsite, complemented by an excellent signature cocktail list (the Oolongtini is a must-try), makes MEILI 沉香 a fantastic pre- or post-dinner spot in its own right.
Finally, the restaurant's commitment to *inclusivity and fast service* addresses critical needs for the New York user. The availability of a wide array of clearly labeled Vegan and Vegetarian options ensures that diverse dietary requirements are met with substance, offering flavorful choices like Kung Pao Vegan Chicken*. While one customer review noted an issue with some vegan dishes, the sheer breadth of the plant-based menu (from Ma Po Tofu** to Dry-Pot Cabbage*) suggests a strong, continued commitment to these offerings. Coupled with a 'Fast service' highlight, the restaurant offers an efficient, comfortable, and accommodating experience that appeals to the diverse, fast-paced rhythm of Brooklyn life.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had the worse vegan dishes here! Pure sodium and everything was dry and fried. We ordered 3 main vegan dishes just to make sure at least one of them would be edible, but NO, this was exceptionally bad. If you are vegan or vegetarian do not go there. We had 3 bites (one of each dish) and asked for the check, they still charged us full price! Nice new restaurant but everything else was terrible.
September 07 · POWER PLANTMeili just opened in Williamsburg, and wow—it’s a must-visit! The flavors are bold, the vibes are modern, and the dishes are amazing. We had the Truffle Beef, and it was so tender. The mapo lobsters is also so yummy. For our plant-based friends, the Kung Pao Vegan Chicken is a winner— flavorful, and seriously addictive. Lots of vegan menu available. The dining room is gorgeous, and the bar is perfect for a cocktail (or two).If you love Szechuan food with a twist, Meili is the spot. April 18 · Cheryl PinkRestaurant has a cool vibe, when I went they had live music. The service is attentive and friendly. The food was decent. The noodles were great the dumplings excellent and the beef pancake delicious. The drinks were great also, had a Negroni and cross pacific. The let down was the entree. I ordered the duck with crispy rice and the duck was overcooked. Definitely do not recommend that dish at all.
July 01 · Peter PaganGreat restaurant with funky vibes, great ceiling height, nested in the CODA hotel in Williamsburg. Food is pretty good, similar to Chili, their sister restaurant.Service is excellent, attentive, prices are reasonable.I see bright future ahead of Meili!
September 05 · Tamas HoffmannA gorgeous setting and ambiance of a restaurant. We stopped in Saturday evening and were seated right away for a table of two without reservation. The service was swift and courteous, and our waiters made sure our glasses were full always. We ordered Jasmine hot tea, appetizer Shrimp Shumai, Braised Pork Belly with Chestnuts as our main entree and paired it with a dish of Sautéed Chinese Broccoli. The Shumai was freshly made and piping hot just how we like it! Both entrees were fantastic; the pork was juicy, meaty and fat, and the sliced broccoli along with the tea helped cut the grease. An absolute recommend for those in the area!!
