Mockingbird Introduce
In a bustling city with a bar on nearly every corner, a unique and inclusive concept is making waves in Brooklyn’s vibrant Park Slope neighborhood. Mockingbird is not just another cocktail bar; it is a dedicated zero-proof establishment, offering a sophisticated and welcoming space where guests can enjoy a world-class drinking experience without the alcohol. From the moment you step inside, it feels like any other elevated cocktail lounge, complete with a beautifully designed space, a cozy ambiance, and a rhythmic clinking of glassware. The key difference is the thoughtful and intentional craftsmanship behind every single drink, focusing on flavor, complexity, and presentation, rather than a reliance on spirits. This innovative approach has made Mockingbird a game-changer for those who are sober, sober-curious, or simply looking for an exceptional night out without the effects of alcohol.
Mockingbird is an openly LGBTQ+ owned business, and it has cultivated an atmosphere that is not only friendly but also a designated transgender safe space. This commitment to inclusivity is a core part of its identity, drawing a diverse and loyal crowd of locals and groups. The atmosphere is described as casual, cozy, and trendy, making it the perfect backdrop for everything from a first date to a birthday celebration. The owners have created a place for genuine connection and conversation, where the focus is on shared experiences and delicious beverages. Reviews from real customers highlight this, with one patron noting, "I love this place! They have such a large variety of NA wines and beers and such creative mocktails. The bar tenders and waiters are so kind and knowledgeable." This sentiment is echoed by another who celebrated a 30th birthday there, stating the experience was "perfect" and the "vibes are great."
The drink menu at Mockingbird is extensive and impressive, showcasing a wide array of non-alcoholic options that go far beyond simple sodas or juices. The bar’s creative mocktails are a major draw, built with intention using non-alcoholic spirits, uncommon ingredients, and mixology techniques. The bar also offers a large variety of non-alcoholic beers and wines, a rarity in many establishments. For beer lovers, there is a diverse selection of N.A. IPAs, stouts, and more, including options like Montauk N.A. IPA and Busty Lush She's Divine Oatmeal Stout. The wine list is equally compelling, featuring sparkling options like Leitz Sparkling Blanc De Blancs and a selection of still wines like Leitz Zero Point Five Pinot Noir. The commitment to sourcing high-quality, alcohol-free products, including highlighting local, women-, and minority-owned producers, sets Mockingbird apart as a leader in the zero-proof space. Beyond the ready-to-drink options, the bar also offers an impressive bottle shop, allowing patrons to purchase NA spirits, bitters, mixers, and more to craft their own drinks at home, including popular items like Free Spirits Tequila and Ghia Original Aperitif.
Mockingbird is more than just a place to grab a drink; it's a social hub with a dynamic calendar of events. The bar has a custom speaker system, making it a great venue for music lovers and audiophiles. Past events have included live music and performances, adding to the vibrant atmosphere and sense of community. The space's design and sound quality are often praised by visitors, creating an ideal setting for deep conversations and lively gatherings. The staff's hospitality is another point of pride, with guests frequently commenting on their attentiveness, kindness, and knowledge. One review notes that the staff was "so accommodating to my large group and even helped cut up the cake" during a birthday party, demonstrating the high level of personal care and service that defines the Mockingbird experience. The bar's fast service ensures that even on a busy night, guests don't have to wait long for their meticulously crafted beverages.
In a city where nightlife often revolves around alcohol, Mockingbird stands as a beacon of innovation and inclusion. It proves that you don't need alcohol to have a good time, to have a meaningful conversation, or to enjoy a beautifully made drink. It’s a sophisticated and welcoming space that fills a much-needed gap in the market, providing a comfortable and safe environment for all to socialize. Its success is a testament to a growing demand for thoughtful and engaging social options that cater to a wider audience. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love this place! They have such a large variety of NA wines and beers and such creative mocktails. The bar tenders and waiters are so kind and knowledgeable. I hosted my birthday party here a few weeks ago and they were so accommodating to my large group and even helped cut up the cake. Highly recommended!
August 17 · Shanyn RubinsteinJust had my 30th birthday party at Mockingbird with a large group and it was perfect. I’ve tried most of the mocktails on the menu and they’re all incredible, and my partner really enjoyed their NA beers. The service is excellent, the staff are all wonderful, and the vibes are great. Super grateful to the Mockingbird team for making sure we had a fun night, and excited to go back :)
September 14 · Carolyn JohnI love this classy non-alcoholic bar in Park Slope! It’s so nice to be able to connect with people sober and feel like I’m at a bar. The partners are so attentive and cool. Had a great conversation with a bartender named Fear. It’s also queer friendly and the drinks are delicious. Great hangout spot to chat and sip with friends or a date. I had a delicious Italian flat bread with Mozzarella and pesto. Was perfectly cooked, and tasty. I highly recommend. Also, since most people are going out to get drunk, it’s more low key. Not as crowded on a Friday, so great to come with a group.
June 06 · Jonathan GoldsteinThis place nails the balance between aesthetic and service, it’s got the perfect atmosphere with a color palette and design that feels straight out of the movie Her.For someone who doesn’t drink regularly, this zero-proof spot is a game-changer. It’s a calling card for deep conversations, with an engaging and welcoming staff that makes the experience even better. The fact that this place has only been open a month says a lot. How you start is how you finish. DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING.
March 02 · Lovell RamsayAn amazing addition to the neighborhood! Perfect for a cozy NA cocktail on a weeknight and my new favorite weekend coffee spot! They spice up the menu with seasonal options to keep it fresh so there's always something new to try. I have never tasted NA cocktails like this before - these guys are truly changing the game ✅
