What is Worth Choosing
When visiting Next Stop Vegan, you are spoiled for choice with an array of highly-rated and innovative dishes. For starters, the Empanadas are an absolute must-try. They come in exciting, savory fillings like the Pizza Mushroom Empanada, Mac N Cheese Empanada, and Lentils And Potatoes Empanada. Customer reviews consistently praise the flavorful empanadas, noting that the Mac N Cheese, Pizza Mushroom, and Chickn and Cheese varieties are particular standouts. Pair them with one of their famous homemade sauces—the cilantro and chimi sauces are highly recommended by local patrons.
Among the main cultural dishes, the Sancocho is a popular choice, a hearty 16oz bowl of the classic Latin stew, 'vegan-ized' to perfection. Another highlight from their popular cultural offerings is the Mini Mofonguitos. For a lighter, yet still satisfying option, the Caribe Salad is a great choice.
For those seeking a substantial comfort meal, several items stand out. The Twisted Burrito is reported by the co-owner as the most popular item in the Brooklyn location. Another crowd-pleaser is the Cesar's Philly Cheesteak, with patrons raving about the unique, delicious infusion of mushrooms that replaces the traditional meat. If you are in the mood for a burger, the Sweet And Spicy Oyster Mushroom Burger offers an unforgettable flavor profile, and the classic The Chimi is another top-rated choice, a plant-based spin on the traditional Dominican Chimi Burger. Finally, don't miss out on their beverage selection; the watermelon cocktail comes highly recommended by diners for a refreshing accompaniment to your meal.
New Yorkers and visitors looking for genuine, high-quality, and deeply flavorful plant-based cuisine with a strong Caribbean and Latin influence should make Next Stop Vegan their next stop. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The food looked exactly like the pictures, the portion sizes were generous, and the taste was incredible. However, I was a bit disappointed with the French fries—some were overcooked and had turned black. But would definitely love to try many other dishes. As I work nearby, so finding a lunch spot with generous portions is always a win—and this place definitely delivers!
September 24 · Isha Arvind PatelComing into the restaurant, it was nice and clean, the bar looked pretty too. We were seated by the host, the tables are all pretty close to each other so it did feel a little tight. To start, we ordered 2 empanadas. One chicken and cheese, one pizza and mushroom. I For our main course, we ordered the cheesesteak sandwich with fries and the Oyster salad. We expected to get our appetizers first, and then our main course later, but we actually got both of them at the same time which was a bit unusual. Not only that, but we received our food about 20-25 mins after ordering so be wary of the time it takes before your food arrives. To compensate for the late arrival though, our server gave us an extra empanada on the house, the Mac n cheese one, which was nice of him. The 2 sauces we had were the cilantro sauce and chimi sauce, I was a big fan of the cilantro while my partner loved the chimi. Both great options. Our main course was delicious and filling too. I really like how the mushroom is infused in the cheesesteak, I never had smth like it before and I def would have it again. It was my partners first time eating oysters and she enjoyed her salad as well. We’d rate the chicken empanada a 9/10, the mushroom one a 8/10, and the Mac n cheese one a 6/10. The cheesesteak was a 9/10 and the oyster salad was a 7/10 according to my partner. I also had a watermelon cocktail drink that our server recommended. I really only ordered one, but I enjoyed it a lot so I had to get another. I would definitely recommend the watermelon cocktail. Overall food was great, service could have been a bit faster but servers were nice and respectful. Spent about $140 for 2 people here after tip. If you decide to come here, be prepared to wait for ur food. Other than that, no complaints.
July 05 · Rizwan ChowdhuryWe had dinner here and the food was just incredibly delicious. It was fantastic. We were warmly welcomed, got great recommendations. The kitchen was super quick, and we left feeling really full and satisfied. There’s a great selection and an amazing variety of vegan dishes. You can sit outside or inside in the air-conditioned space. Absolutely a place I’d recommend without hesitation.
July 18 · Saskia BuelowMuch love to my favorite plant based spot in New York. I’ve had almost everything off the menu, and my favorite is the chimi. From attending their pop outs through the city to the restaurant. I give Next Stop Vegan a 10/10. If you’re plant based, you must try!!
August 25 · Deonte VinsonThis is the type of vegan place you go to when someone says "vegan food is boring"Every single dish we had was a 10/10, every bite was better that the last. The staff was super friendly and walked us through the entire menu and gave us good recommendation. The chipotle sauce is an absolute MUST! I don't know how they made it so flavorful but I've never had chipotle sauce (vegan or not) with as much flavor! This is one of the best vegan restaurants I've had in the city in a long time. Prices were responsible for the massive portions. Ambiance was great, gold decor and plenty of seating.I can't wait to go back and try more food!
