★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1🍽️ Papaye – A Bronx staple that never misses on flavor.I’ve been coming to Papaye for years—since living in the Bronx—and it’s truly a household name in the community. The food has always held it down, especially the kebabs, which are still one of my go-to orders whenever I’m back in the city. The service has improved over time, but there’s still room for more warmth and enthusiasm. That extra effort would elevate the customer experience, but it seems like they know their food speaks for itself—and honestly, it does.Flavors are solid, portions are generous, and it’s one of those spots that stays real to its roots. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area.
July 15 · Jonas OforiMy first time here. The food was extremely delicious and flavorful with just the perfect amount of spice. They give a generous amount of food also. I would definitely go back…no disappointments at all 10/10.
November 13 · Nedra MooreI enjoyed their food and servicesProper Ghanaian food
January 07 · Enock YeboahThe best Ghanaian food I ever had in the Bronx. I would definitely come back. I had Egusi soup with mix meat and fufu, and it was the best.
October 11 · VictoriaCame here for lunch a few weeks ago and it was a little disappointing. The line had about 10 people ahead of me and still had about a hour wait. How ridiculous. The owner was working the register but he seemed more like the help as he has SOOO many questions for the staff about pricing. I ordered okra soup w pounded yam. The soup was VERY oily and it red... Red? some of you are thinking the same thing as me. Unless they discovered a "new" vegetable how is the soup red??? It must of been Banga soup or heavily doused in palm oil as I only had 1 piece of okra in the entire bowl. The jelloff rice was fine it tasted like it was made in a pressure cooker instead of over the counter which takes longer and more effort but the flavor and quality is worth it. Moving on I would recommend you grab and go if you stop by for lunch. Although there is seating it isn't advised.
