The allure of PHD Terrace lies in its blend of a picturesque setting and a vibrant atmosphere. Customers often praise the creative and beautiful decor, with one review highlighting the "cute" cherry theme during the summer. The breathtaking city views, especially during golden hour, are a major draw. The bar boasts a strong menu of offerings, including a great selection of beers, cocktails, and wine. The "Spicy Cherry Paloma" was a particular hit with a customer, who described it as delicious. The food menu, while consisting of "lite bites" and upscale pub-grub style eats, has its standouts like the "Mac & cheese balls." The service is a mix of highs and lows. While some have had "amazing" experiences with friendly and talented bartenders, others have noted issues with bus boys being overly eager to rush them out, even when the venue was not busy. This is an important detail to note for those planning a relaxed evening. Despite this, many patrons would return, drawn by the beautiful decor, delicious drinks, and lively vibe. The all-seasons aspect of the rooftop, with a retractable roof and seasonal enclosures, ensures it's a great spot to visit year-round, rain or shine.

While it can be a tourist destination due to its prime location, it's also a place that locals can appreciate for its stylish setting and quality offerings. The lounge-like atmosphere with comfortable seating is perfect for a cozy night, while the option for dancing and bottle service caters to a more high-energy crowd. The inclusive atmosphere, which is LGBTQ+ friendly and a transgender safespace, also makes it a welcoming spot for a diverse range of people. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The theme is very cute here! It was decorated with cherries for summer on a rooftop with great golden hour sun and nice city views. The lite bites were tasty (we loved the Mac & cheese balls!!! We wish the chicken bites had more than 1 dipping sauce, but they were still good). The spicy cherry Paloma was delicious!! The cherry espresso martini tasted a bit like medicine. Our waitress was so nice and helpful, but the bus boys were very rude - they kept trying to rush us and clear our table even though it was not busy, it was half empty, so it’s not like they needed to clear our table. Also, we genuinely felt very judged for taking photos, even though we were just at our table in the corner. One bus boy kept giving us nasty looks, which I’ve never experienced at a city rooftop bar that is designed for photo taking. The same bus boy made me move my bag off a tiny side table (RIGHT next to my seat) so he could give it to a larger party, but when I looked on the other side of the group, I saw an empty side table that he could have grabbed instead. I would definitely would return to check out the next theme & get another Paloma! But now I know how some staff is about photos and service. Just be warned, the cherry tunnel is used to get to seats and to take pictures there, you might block staff, so you have to snap quickly when they’re not walking around. It’s not a side area that you can pose for a ton of pictures to avoid getting in the way, which feels a little silly for a place that heavily advertises all the photo opportunities.
August 12 · Ana SuarezI had an amazing experience with a bartender who informed us she only works there for special events. She made incredible drinks and was very friendly. The food was OK. Tried burgers and chicken w a peanut sauce. One thing that would cause me to not return is the rooftop only had two fans. It was extremely hot. The decor however is beautiful.
July 26 · J UbiwaLovely place to enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine with a view over NYC.Snack and food is available (didn’t try).Service was perfect. Quick and friendly. The bar itself is fine. Three outside spots for a bunch of people. Inside its getting “agy”.Good music was always on. Some house and electro beats.
May 10 · Lukas ArmatysSuch a great time we went for the happy hour, best of the best food was great as well drinks! Will definitely be returning back soon.
August 17 · LightothedarknessBeautiful place with lovely themes. Would recommend if you want to catch up with friends after work, girls night out or date night. Definitely dress up cause there are so many cute spots to take pictures. The Food is ok and some drinks are really watered down which is a shame. The waitresses are very polite and do their best to bring your order promptly but sometimes it gets busy so you do have to just ask them to check on your order.
