★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is our second time eating at this place; although the last time was maybe several years ago. The place is fairly simple. Not much decoration. But the walls are covered with pictures and items from the Philippines. The food makes up the need to visit this place. The Kare-Kare is superb. I love the peanut sauce and tender meat. The pork knuckle (Crispy Pata) is great appetizer with beer but also part of the meal; ummm! The pork is so tender fall of the bone. You need to try the Panci Palabok (noodle dish) and eggplant omelette ( Torta Talong) along with Garlic Rice. It is so filling! Our server (Gretchen) who happens to be the owner is fanatic and enthusiastic about their dishes. She is very friendly, excellent listener and very professional. If you’re in Staten Island, stop by the Phil-Am Kusina at 556 Thompson Ave in Staten Island, NY. You won’t regret this place.
October 02 · Danny TanghalWe have been coming here regularly for years twas good in the beginning but this place deteriorated this past 2 years , this review goes out to the nastiest host on floor which I won’t mention your name but you know who you are, I promised you years ago that I will leave you my negative review when you messed up my order and gave me leftover crispy pata that was so rubbery and old, chopped random pieces of the pata bec it was leftovers from your buffet table that you gathered and put in a box and told me twas freshly made I cant believe you made excuses and refuse to refund me or least cook me a new one when i complained but it took 1 week of me waiting for your response and finally gave me a credit.,, for years we are greatly regular customers here food are okay, tho really over priced with tiny serving so sad this is the only Fil resto in the Island, and ppl are saying service was great and food are great, hope google reviews has options for ZERO stars, with your nasty attitude, today, again i ordered pork sisig and look no eggs, no mayo ,no onions, just bare tough pork! slices of pork are too thick and pork is so hard and rubbery no taste at all, super dry! Look at lumpiang shanghai too thin, overcooked plating is really bad what is this!!! And how nasty were you today, I am very unhappy with my orders , i will never recommend this place! And will advice ppl not to go and eat here 😡 very bad customer service
July 20 · M. P.The food I had was awesome, the only complaint that I have is that the halo halo didn’t have condensed milk, but that’s a preference thing among Filipinos. Some like it on the sweeter side, but I’m guessing a lot of East Asians visit the place so the desserts are on the less sweeter side to cater. The other entrees I had helped me remember home such as the adobo and the sinigang. The people working there at the time were super friendly and helped me navigate the menu.Don’t confuse this place with the Phil-am grocery store next to it!
April 29 · M BAmazing restaurant! The food is beyond awesome and the servings are massive! Indeed a bang for the buck! On top of that- the service is great and the place has a cozy “homey” atmosphere that’s surely gonna entice you to keep coming back :)
May 05 · Popo BeeI am very happy with the exceptional service my family and friends have received during our visits to Phil Am Restaurant. The delicious food options such as their tapa, lechong kawali, inasal, and sisig are a testament to their culinary skills. What truly stands out, however, is the warm and kind demeanor of the staff, including Ate Greta and Ate Maneth. They have consistently been attentive to our needs, making our dining experiences truly enjoyable. As we have been frequent patrons, I have developed a personal connection with the staff, who have become like good friends to me. I have taken to introducing them to my family and friends, and I will continue to support the business not only for its excellent food but also for its exceptional service.Masarap suportahan ang ating kapwa Pilipino. :)
