PopUp Bagels Introduce
For many, the New York bagel is a symbol of the city itself: dense, chewy, and an essential part of the daily routine. But what if you could take that classic comfort and elevate it with a unique twist? PopUp Bagels has done just that, carving out its own niche in the city's saturated bagel scene. This is not your typical corner bagel shop; it's a place that redefines the bagel experience with a focus on freshness, quality, and a unique, light texture that has garnered a devoted following.
What started as a small, backyard passion project has grown into a phenomenon, capturing the hearts of New Yorkers who appreciate a perfectly baked bagel. PopUp Bagels specializes in offering bagels that are served warm, fresh from the oven, providing an unparalleled sensory experience. The texture is a standout feature—fluffy on the inside with a satisfyingly light and crispy crust, setting them apart from the traditional dense bagel. The experience is designed to be straightforward and delicious, perfect for a quick stop during a busy morning or a weekend pickup. It's a testament to the idea that sometimes, less is more, with the focus squarely on the quality of the bagel itself.
Located at 370 7th Ave, New York, NY 10001, USA, PopUp Bagels is perfectly positioned for a quick and convenient visit. Its location in Midtown, just a short walk from the bustling Penn Station, makes it a prime spot for commuters, tourists, and anyone exploring the area. Whether you're heading to work, catching a train, or grabbing a bite before an event at Madison Square Garden, this bagel shop is an easily accessible choice.
The shop is designed primarily for takeout, which aligns perfectly with the fast-paced nature of New York City life. While the interior space is limited, with just a few small tables and stools, the grab-and-go model is its strength. This is an ideal spot for a quick visit, and the efficient service ensures you won't be held up for long. The central location and focus on speed make it a go-to for those who need a delicious and fast breakfast without a fuss. The high volume of foot traffic in the area means it's often a lively spot, a true reflection of its popularity.
PopUp Bagels keeps its services streamlined and focused on what it does best: providing exceptional bagels.
- Takeout-Focused Service: The primary service model is takeout. The shop is built for efficiency, allowing customers to get their order quickly and be on their way. This is perfect for those who are on a tight schedule.
- Bulk Bagel Sales: Unlike many shops where you can buy a single bagel, PopUp Bagels has a unique sales model. They sell a minimum of three bagels in a pack, which includes schmear. This is ideal for groups, families, or anyone who wants to stock up on fresh bagels.
- Coffee Service: To complement their bagels, the shop offers coffee, providing a complete breakfast solution for a quick and satisfying start to the day.
- Cashless Payments: For added convenience, the shop accepts credit cards and debit cards, making the transaction process smooth and fast.
Several features make PopUp Bagels a distinctive and highly-regarded bagel shop in New York City.
- The Bagels Themselves: The most significant highlight is the quality and texture of the bagels. They are served warm, fresh out of the oven, and have a uniquely fluffy interior and a crispy exterior. This lighter, less dense texture is a refreshing change that many customers rave about.
- Friendly and Welcoming Staff: Despite the fast-paced environment, the staff is known for being incredibly friendly and welcoming. Positive customer interactions contribute significantly to the overall experience.
- Unique Pricing Model: The model of selling bagels in minimum packs of three is a unique feature. While it may not be ideal for a solo traveler, it's a great value for groups or for those who want to take bagels home to share. The pricing is competitive, especially considering the quality and the included schmear.
- Trendy and Modern Vibe: The shop’s decor is trendy and modern, with a clean aesthetic. While small, the space is well-designed and has a welcoming feel, with branded merchandise that adds to its cool, pop-up style.
- Focus on Simplicity: PopUp Bagels succeeds by not overcomplicating things. The menu is concise, allowing them to perfect their core offerings and deliver a consistent, high-quality product every time.

When you visit PopUp Bagels, the choice is simple but the experience is exceptional. The main event is, of course, the bagels themselves. Given their unique texture and the fact that they are served warm, any of the classic options—plain, everything, sesame, or poppy—are a fantastic choice. The everything bagel is a customer favorite, praised for its perfect balance of seasonings that complement the light, fresh texture.
The bagels come with a choice of schmear, and this is where you can truly personalize your experience. While plain cream cheese is a classic, many customers love the specialty spreads that are available, such as scallion cream cheese. These schmears are designed for dipping, not spreading, which adds to the fun and unique dining ritual. The combination of a warm, fluffy bagel and a perfectly seasoned schmear is what makes PopUp Bagels a must-try.
Since the bagels are sold in packs, it's worth getting at least the three-pack to try a couple of different bagel and schmear combinations. This is a great way to experience the full range of flavors. If you're with friends or family, a half-dozen or a dozen pack is an even better value. Don't forget to grab a coffee to complete your order, providing the perfect accompaniment to your freshly baked bagels. For a unique, high-quality, and delicious breakfast that stands out in a city of bagels, PopUp Bagels is a great choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Tried PopUp Bagels for the first time and was seriously impressed! First of all the place was packed. The bagels are super fresh and fluffy — not your typical bagels, that are usually more dense in texture. These are something uniquely light and delicious. Definitely worth the hype! The schemers were fantastic too!The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. For me it really matters for the entire experience. The only downside is the limited space inside. Looks like it’s more of a grab-and-go spot, and I noticed some people just parked and ate on the curb and they looked perfectly happy. I guess the quality of the beagles is making up for the lack of tables and chairs. Still, with bagels this good, it’s totally worth it.Perfect for a quick stop or weekend pickup.
July 25 · Anika NaneyshviliThe bagels are served warm, which makes then some of the best bagels I've ever had.Unfortunately, they only sell a minimum of 3. I was traveling solo and didn't want so many bagels. It was $13 for three bagels and cream cheese. The shop is small and has trendy decor and merch. There are two small tables and a few stools. It was good and luckily there was no line, but I wouldn't return because I can't eat 3 bagels. There are other bagel shops I would like to try first.
September 16 · Sharon OlsonThe bagels were tasty and the cream cheese was delicious! The only draw back is that you have to get a minimum of 3 bagels. If they sold them individually I think it would be more appealing. Overall great experience and friendly staff!
July 22 · Nicole WhiteIt was better than I expected! Pretty good overall. The dough was super chewy, and I’d definitely come here often whenever I’m craving bagels. The cream cheese was amazing (we tried the limited edition French toast flavor), which was just the right amount of sweet and so good. We got sesame, salt, and everything bagels and tbh all the flavors were solid. Hard to pick a favorite! Wish they sold individual bagels tho. They only sell in packs so the minimum I need to get was three
July 10 · Doah KwonSecond trip, different location, same result. Hot and fresh and delicious bagels with delicious spreads. The wait wasn’t as bad at this location as at Soho. I went at eight and walked in and ordered. Maybe everybody was already at work. Google maps didn’t show this as being on the corner of the block so don’t give up on finding it.
