What makes Ramro an exceptional choice for diners in New York is its commitment to creating a unique and memorable experience, despite the occasional inconsistency mentioned in some reviews. While one customer noted that some flavors were "just okay" and didn't "live up to the hype," they also pointed out specific items that were truly outstanding and worth a visit on their own. The "ube ko achar" was described as a "unique dish" and the "cheddar ice cream" absolutely "blew us away," with its surprising and well-balanced combination of flavors. This highlights the restaurant's creativity and willingness to push culinary boundaries, offering unforgettable signature dishes. Another customer's review provides a powerful counterpoint, praising the food as "exceptional" on both of their visits. They also loved the "cozy" and "very personalized" service, noting that the staff is attentive and goes "out of their way to make it up to you" if a hiccup occurs. This speaks to a strong customer service ethic and a dedication to ensuring a positive experience. The same reviewer’s favorite dishes, the duck and the noodles, are a testament to the restaurant’s mastery of these main courses. The review also provides a valuable insight: the service may be a bit slower because "they cook everything fresh," with an open kitchen that allows diners to watch the process. For those who appreciate a meal cooked with care and fresh ingredients, the wait is "worth it." Ramro's unique fusion of Filipino and Nepalese cuisines, its focus on creative cocktails, and its cozy, intimate atmosphere make it more than just a place to eat—it’s a dining destination. The acceptance of reservations, the bar on-site, and the welcoming nature of the space further solidify its appeal. For New Yorkers seeking a culinary adventure that offers both familiar comfort and exciting new flavors, Ramro is a destination worth exploring for its standout dishes and memorable dining experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We were excited to try this local gem. The staff were kind and helpful in explaining the menu. We ordered the momos, walnut cauliflower, kaldereta (lamb), sinaing (skate wing), ube ko achar, and for dessert, the silvanas and cheddar ice cream.Overall, the flavors were just okay and didn’t quite live up to the hype or reflect a strong signature style. That said, a few items stood out, particularly the ube ko achar and the desserts. The ube ko achar was a unique dish; you don’t often come across ube gnocchi, and it offered something different. The silvanas were nicely balanced and not overly sweet. The cheddar ice cream absolutely blew us away - the combination of cheddar and parmesan with the sweetness of the ice cream and a touch of olive oil was surprisingly well-balanced and memorable. I'd come back for the ice cream alone.Still, as a whole experience, it didn’t quite win us over. It was worth trying once.
April 18 · JosephI’ve eaten here twice now and both times the food was exceptional. The restaurant is cozy and the service is very personalized. Service is a bit on the slower slide but only because they cook everything fresh (open kitchen for you to observe, I love sitting by the bar). Any time there is a hiccup, they go out of their way to make it up to you. The food is worth the wait. My favorite is the duck and the noodles.
August 07 · Zarin AnikaPretty solid food, but nothing blew me away and nothing was very memorable. Some of the dishes were too heavy (the skate wing main, although the texture of the fish was great), some were too light (the crudo, which was also super fishy), and overall the flavor profile was relatively one-dimensional and there was always something wrong/missing with each dish. The duck was disappointingly very dry, as pictured. The ice cream was a highlight and the crispy bits were delightful! Overall, glad I gave Ramro a try and I still enjoyed the dinner, but this restaurant probably isn’t worth a second visit.
July 16 · Cleo ChangI wanted to love this place, as the couple who runs this restaurant is super sweet and friendly. But most of the dishes needed more flavor. The momos were super bland and the sauces didn’t go well with it at all. The crudo needed more acid and salt, without the fish left a fishy taste in my mouth. The duck didn’t have much flavor and the skin was chewy instead of crisp. Trout, beef skewers and fried rice were the better dishes. Dessert medicine as well. But a cute spot in the neighborhood to have something different. They just need to up the cooking a little bit to be a gem.
August 01 · Jing Yang✨ Absolutely incredible! ✨Everyone works with so much care and attention, and the whole experience was truly wonderful for me. The flavors were perfectly balanced, fresh, and simply outstanding. You can really feel the passion behind everything they do here. Highly recommended! I’ll definitely be coming back!
