When visiting Restaurante Torogoz, the most compelling reason to choose this Bridgeport gem is the opportunity to experience the unique, dual-focused menu of **Salvadoran and Honduran** cuisine—a rarity in many parts of Connecticut. The must-try items are undeniably the traditional staples. You should absolutely start with the **Pupusas**, the iconic Salvadoran dish: thick corn tortillas stuffed with savory fillings. With options like Pupusas Revueltas (mixed), De Queso Con Loroco (cheese with loroco flower), or the spicy De Jalapeno Y Ajo, these are an authentic delight priced affordably between $2.75 and $3.50 each. A review highlights the quality, stating they were **well made**, a testament to the kitchen's skill.
Next, exploring the Honduran side of the menu is essential. The **Baleadas** are a favorite, consisting of a large flour tortilla folded over mashed fried beans, cream, and cheese. Opt for the Baleadas Especial ($8.00) for a more complete experience compared to the regular version ($5.00). This classic street food is hearty, flavorful, and a perfect representation of Honduran comfort food.
For a main course, look to the comprehensive Platos Tipicos or the Especialidades de la Casa. The **Churrasco De La Casa** ($23.00) is a standout, offering a premium grilled steak experience, or for those seeking something truly special, the **Churrasco Con Camarones** ($26.00) offers an excellent surf-and-turf combination. The extensive seafood options are also a popular choice, particularly the impressive and traditional **Sopa De Mariscada**, available with or without lobster. To complete the experience, skip the usual soda and try one of the freshly prepared **Jugo De Fresa** or **Horchata**, which provides a refreshing and authentic taste of Central American fruit juices and traditional rice-based drinks.
Restaurante Torogoz provides an all-encompassing, high-quality, and authentic dining experience that is highly recommended for anyone in the Bridgeport area looking to expand their culinary horizons beyond the usual Latin fare. With its friendly service, great coffee, and capacity for groups, it is an excellent choice for any meal of the day.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Loved it here! Best honduran/Salvadoran food around! It took a little long, but that’s to be expected because there was only one person in the kitchen. I got both the pupusas and baleada and they were both well made!
November 25 · Dolores BFirst time here, Quality good food, great customer service, will return again. try this place out !
March 10 · Brian CruzLove this baleadas I think the best in Bridgeport.
November 12 · Yessenia ZunigaI ordered beef soup because the other Salvadoran restaurant doesn't deliver, but next time I'll go to the other one. I don't recommend this soup, it's too simple, the meat is tough, and the corn is just like the picture shows. I offered it to a friend to try, but he didn't like it. I also hope they can improve the flavor of the soup.
February 08 · Anggie PThe food was delicious, but it was a bit overpriced. Too expensive. They should be a little more conscious of their prices.
