Settepani Bakery Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Settepani Bakery, nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is more than just a local bakery; it is a beloved New York institution with a rich family heritage. Since its founding in 1992 by Chef Antonino “Nino” Settepani, who grew up in the neighborhood after immigrating from Sicily, Settepani has been a delightful ode to both traditional Italian baking and innovative pastry concepts. The name Settepani, which literally translates to “seven breads,” reflects the family’s deep Italian roots and their dedication to bringing people together through the joy of food.
This bakery has earned its place as a cornerstone of the Brooklyn food scene, celebrated for its high-quality ingredients, skillful craftsmanship, and commitment to both classic Italian dolce and contemporary creations. While honoring staples like Cannoli, Sfogliatella, and a wide array of exquisite Italian cookies—such as the Pignoli and Amaretti—Settepani has also gained widespread fame for innovative, viral items like the Rainbow Cookie Croissant and its extraordinary, year-round Panettone offerings. This fusion of tradition and innovation is a hallmark of the Settepani brand, now led by the next generation of the family, including pastry chef Bilena Settepani, who continues to evolve the menu.
Beyond retail, Settepani operates as a dedicated Wholesale Bakery, supplying its high-caliber breads and pastries across the city, extending its influence far beyond its Lorimer Street address. Patrons visiting the Williamsburg location can expect a welcoming environment perfect for a quick visit, whether grabbing a morning coffee with a Bombolone or sitting down for a light Italian-inspired lunch, complete with Caprese Panino or a Conca D’Oro Salad.

Settepani Bakery Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Excellent service but the blackout chocolate cake was extremely bland to the point where I had to throw it out. Very nice folks so I feel a bit bad leaving the review but the bakery is quite expensive and I would not recommend the cake -- way too much frosting (70% of the cake, completely tasteless and oily) and there was barely any cake, which was the only part that tasted okay. I would maybe go back to support good people, but honestly the cake was extremely subpar, one of the worst I've ever had
September 18 · Laurel MaI had an Easter Pie (grain pie) delivered by Goldbelly, it was wonderful. After 3 tries because of UPS delivery problems. Such a sin to throw out all that good food. But it is the best pie. The flavor is like when i was young in NYC, in the 50's and 60's .** But please take note, the ad in Goldbelly is incorrect. It says 2 pounds. It is 5 pounds. This should be corrected so that people realize how much they actually get for the price.
April 07 · Karen GaglianoThis café is very expensive. We ordered two small pistachio tarts and two large coffees; however, their “large” is smaller than Starbucks’ Tall cup. The tarts taste like margarine and we couldn't even ate them. We paid 32 bucks. Don't waste your money.
March 14 · David NikuradzeMy wife found this bakery on Tik Tok and we decided to check it out. We're glad we did. We bought the Sfogliatelle, Chocolate Chip Cookie Croissant, Rainbow Cookie Croissant and the Rainbow Cookie Panettone. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The croissants were rich, buttery, and flaky. The Sfogliatelle was lightly dusted with confectioners sugar and crunchy with a generous filling. The Rainbow Cookie Panettone is outstanding! The Panettone is light and has an excellent chew. It has just the right amount of raspberry filling, chocolate, and cookies to perfectly balance the best aspects of these desserts. If you're ever in the area give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.
November 19 · 69 BirdFamily owned bakery that's been around for awhile. I bought the Rainbow Cookie Croissant and it was 😋 as was the Lemon Coconut mini cake that I bought. The place is spacious. I like the items they have as decorations. I wouldn't call it a cozy environment. The lady that helped me didn't seem to be in a good mood, but I guess we all have those days (in this business, you should probably leave the mood at home). I read that they were known for their Pantone and that they had different varieties throughout the year, unfortunately on this day they didn't have a different variety in the mini version. So their were some minor setbacks but all in all I'm glad I tried this bakery out. The things I bought were delicious and the prices were reasonable. Will I go again? Maybe.
