★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Loved my entire meal! The building has been around since the 1930’s and the atmosphere was really cool and historic. The baked clams were amazing, we started with the green olive focaccia which was so good and then the lobster pasta was incredible. We also had the branzino which was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back!
September 04 · Priscilla YuYou know, I wasn’t blown away. The food progressions didn’t really blend well, though as individual dishes some sang better than others. As a chorus it felt disjointed going from spicy Thai full flavors to the more mellow and subtle Italian flavors.I think they should lean more into the family style and share philosophy. It’s almost like you could do that as a patron, but the concept should be pushed further. The restaurant was LOUD. The music, not always on vibe, was blaring making everyone else at their own table have to yell and in a cycle of its own creating a hard to hear environment. It doesn’t have to be that way 😭The staff had to handle rude patrons and in turn seemed to give rude back; based on a story the hostess retold. I think some overall training in grace when a restaurant burns in popularity. The rest of the staff is super nice, the dishes come on time. The hostess was super nice too, just stressed managing everything (too much).⭐️Recommend: Onion rings, Branzino, Arancini Salad❌Leave: Stracciatella (needs more bread otherwise you’re forking it), and the Chicken parm (could be tenderized and crispier, sauce needs a kick or some kind of seasoning to balance the Branzino, sesame seeds were odd)
May 25 · Katrina NeumannThe service was great, we did not make a reservation and the host did the most for us to get a table. Everything we had was tasty, impeccable house martini as well. The only thing I did not love was the ravioli just because the taste seemed very mild in contrast to the arancini salad which was insanely good. The tri color cake blew my mind tbh. I am looking forward to trying more of the menu next time!
June 26 · Sammi R.My girlfriend and I saw Jr & Son re open this month, originally a 1930s supper club, and the menu looked unbelievable and we decided we had to go immediately before everybody learns about this place. Wait was just 30 minutes for a walk in. They seated us at the beautiful, rustic bar area that had plenty of space so that we weren’t squished. Right away the entire bar staff (Izzy, Elijah, and Ezra) were very insightful and made our food and drink choices very easy. My girlfriend loved her olive martini and the bread service is a must to start off as you get two very different options to start off your meal, both delicious in their own regard. 2 of our favorite dishes came next, the crab salad and the stracciatella. The stracciatella came with black olive caramel and I don’t even love olive but somehow it tasted unbelievable almost like a sweet olive balsamic jam paired with the stracciatella. The crab salad was unbelievably fresh with a kick from the Calabrian chili oil but the best part was the lemon aioli that gave it a beautiful citrus flavor. Following were the main 2 attractions which were the paccheri in a spicy lobster fra diavolo sauce and the chicken parm in a spicy tomato sauce topped with sesame seeds and mozzarella. Both came out steaming hot making sure it’s plated as soon as it is cooked. My personal favorite of the night was the paccheri in the spicy lobster sauce, it included huge chunks of delicious tender lobster, perfectly cooked pasta, but the best part was very clearly the sauce as you could taste the lobster juices in it even after finishing all the chunks, and obviously it is a very spicy red pepper sauce but couldn’t imagine it any better. The chicken parm is pounded down and cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice and not overwhelming at all, the sesame seeds are a different but great addition on top especially if you are a big sesame fan. The thick cut side of bacon is a great small addition especially if you are in the mood for something sweet/smoky, very tender and could be cut with the fork alone. Must leave room for a dessert as the rainbow cookie layer cake and the chocolate and pistachio ice sundae do not disappoint. Both are vegan as well! As we were told, the chef wanted the desserts to be light and easy on the stomach after that hardy meal. The rainbow cookie layer cake is a work of art and an absolute must try, the moist coconut sponge cake takes over a ton of the flavor, they are not stingy with the raspberry jam and the dark chocolate ganache takes it over the top. The chocolate pistachio sundae is top tier and it’s so thick and gooey between the vanilla ice cream (which is almost like a gelato consistency) and the chocolate magic shell, and the candied pistachios speak for themselves. Everything was absolutely 10/10, the food, the drinks, the service, the atmosphere, down to the price. We will 100% be back as this place gives you a local upscale bar feeling along with top tier food. Once again shoutout to the staff!!
May 25 · Michael WeintraubReally cool vibe inside. Was able to walk in for bars seats but had to wait like an hour.Got the desserts - the sundae is insane and not to be missed. The rainbow cake wasn’t what I was expecting. Tiramisu is solid
