Split Eights Introduce
New York City's Financial District, once primarily a bustling hub for finance, has evolved into a vibrant neighborhood filled with a growing community of residents and a dynamic nightlife scene. Split Eights, a cocktail bar located at 40 Exchange Place, perfectly embodies this transformation. This establishment offers a refreshing departure from the ordinary, providing a space that is both trendy and cozy, making it an ideal destination for a quiet, conversational night out or a lively gathering with friends. While some experiences with service have varied, the bar's core strengths—its expertly crafted cocktails and welcoming atmosphere—have solidified its place in the local bar rotation for many.
Split Eights is more than just a place to grab a drink; it's a dedicated cocktail bar with a curated menu that appeals to discerning tastes. The bar is known for its "great cocktails," a highlight that sets it apart from more generic establishments. Beyond the drinks, it offers a selection of small plates to complement your beverage, including Marinated Olives, Smashed Cucumber Salad, and a Whitefish Salad. It's a place where you can relax and have a great conversation, as noted by a patron who found it easy to do so with a coworker. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Went with a group of friends and were pleasantly surprised by the vibe when we arrived. We had planned to stay all night, but unfortunately, the service got progressively worse. The waitress was extremely disrespectful on multiple occasions, even yelling at us without cause. We ultimately decided to leave and leave zero tip.Message to the owners: You have a great bar, but the staff (particularly the waitress) completely ruined the experience. We hope you take this seriously and address it, the atmosphere deserves much better service. Not planning on going back.
June 19 · Daniela UriasCame here for a night out with a coworker and the environment was very cozy and it was easy to have a good conversation. The bartender was great and made each drink perfect! This place is definitely in my rotation for nice places to grab a good drink after a long day of work! Definitely check them out!
May 06 · Dustin lodatoReally enjoyed this local bar! They’ve got tasty drinks and quick service from kind bartenders. Love all the dark alcohol forward drinks, so many bars neglect to give these the attention they deserve. Look for the googly eyes hidden around the bar!
January 15 · Elizabeth HaddenAmazing quality drinks with exquisite flavors! I don’t remember the name of the raspberry drink but the butterscotch espresso martini was divine. On the pricey side but a cozy and intimate place to grab a quick drink.
January 02 · Riana BThis is by far my favorite coffee shop and I love to go here and work. The coffee is excellent, although be warned they do not have decaf. They have alternate milks because I'm definitely an oat milk fan and they have an amazing vegan chocolate chip cookie that is to die for.
