I’ve been going to Starbucks for years, and this was one of the most disappointing visits I’ve had. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because this location is not living up to the Starbucks standard. It’s also reflective of why their stock is down.First, there’s a lack of consistency and professionalism. I noticed customers with dogs inside the store. Some were allowed without issue, while others (myself included) were scolded. If there’s a clear policy, it should be applied fairly and communicated respectfully, not enforced selectively and in an uncomfortable manner to make you feel insulted.Second, the noise level was unbearable. It wasn’t the customers —it was the music. The volume was turned up so high that it felt more like some club catering to the employees dancing rather than the customers who came to enjoy a coffee and perhaps get some work done.Third, despite around 8 employees being present, the service was slow and disorganized. I waited over five minutes just to place a simple order for coffee. Starbucks has always been busy, but usually efficient. Here, it felt like priorities were misplaced, with customers left waiting while staff seemed focused elsewhere.Finally, the layout and seating make the experience even worse. The large round tables dominate the space but serve little purpose for most customers. It makes it hard to sit comfortably alone or in pairs.The location itself is convenient and should be thriving, but instead it feels neglected. The management, in particular, seems disengaged. I strongly believe a leadership change is needed if this store is to turn around.Starbucks is known for creating a welcoming “third place.” Unfortunately, this location is far from it.

I asked for a bag to hold two drinks, they gave me a bag, without a cup holder. they all seem to be extremely busy, I tried asking for help, the girl rushed off, and the woman very close to me seems didn’t notice. so I grabbed the cup holder myself. the woman now immediately told me I should ask them to hand it over with her eyes rolling through the roof. ok, but could you help me to staple my bag then, she literally gave me a sticker and tell me to do it myself. Im not saying Im perfect here but their service here is definitely not up to bar with their rolling eyes and refusing to pack the drinks.

Horrible Service from this location. My family are long term Starbucks customers and just spent over $40 in Starbucks but when I asked for a water Erica (who claimed as Store Manager) said no free water unless in the same purchase same time same store! It’s Fine to have new policy but since it’s about customers you have to let the customers know. Better post it at front door so customers can see! We asked for showing the policy Erica couldn’t provide it. She looked at her pad then disappeared without any further explanation. For over 30 minutes she couldn’t show any policy support what she claimed. She she said she won’t put the new policy at the front door letting the customers know AS it Doesn’t look Nice. Well she knows it is not nice. And she couldn’t give any policy. And she couldn’t find anyone or give any decent explanation or reasoning. The ONLY thing she did was running away disappearing from front desk! What a horrible place!

“Come for the Matcha, Stay for the Dirty Bathroom… or Don’t.”Conveniently located with plenty of parking and loads of seating both inside and out, this Starbucks should be a win. They’ve got a great selection of mugs, tumblers, and take-home coffee options. Basically, the setup screams “cozy coffee escape.” But the experience? Not so much.Let’s start with the ambiance. Or lack thereof. You walk in expecting the usual Starbucks warmth—“Hi! Welcome!” or at least a head nod. Instead, you’re met with baristas who have earbuds in like they’re on a private podcast about how not to acknowledge customers. They seemed mildly inconvenienced when I asked a question, as if I interrupted a thrilling Spotify session.Quote of the visit:Me: “Hi, quick question—”Barista: Blank stare. Slowly removes one earbud.Me: “…Never mind.”Ordered a Classic Iced Matcha with Strawberry Cold Foam, a Cortado with 3 pumps of liquid brown sugar, and a Pup-a-chino for Amalfi, my dog (who, thankfully, was the only one who left fully satisfied).While waiting, I made the mistake of using the restroom. One word: No.Dirty toilet, paper scraps everywhere, trash overflowing, and no toilet paper in sight. I’m not saying it was the worst Starbucks bathroom I’ve ever seen, but it was giving gas station energy—with none of the irony.Quote #2:Bathroom sign said “Occupied.”Reality: Just sadness and a strong need for Lysol.After 18 minutes, my drinks were ready.The cortado? Decent, but lukewarm—like a coffee trying to ghost you.The matcha? Surprisingly tasty—sweet and earthy in the right ways.The Pup-a-chino? 4 paws up from Amalfi. His only complaint: “Why did I only get one?”The drinks were solid. But the wait time, the cleanliness, and the lack of even basic human decency from staff made this visit more chore than treat.With a good scrub, a team meeting on customer service, and maybe fewer earbuds, this location could be a gem. Until then, bring hand sanitizer, toilet paper, lower expectations, and maybe a travel mug… from home.“Espresso Yourself, But Maybe Somewhere Cleaner.”

Both Moe and Shay are absolutely delightful. I am a current Edgewater resident who recently moved from NY. This is now my local Starbucks. I will say that I’ve had numerous encounters with the manager in this location, and she leaves a lot to be desired from a hospitable perspective. I am an RM and I manage numerous teams of people. The way I personally have had the manager respond to me as well as what I have witnessed with her communication style to her employees, leaves a very negative taste in one’s mouth. She has a strong team; I come back because of her team!

I think this is the best Starbucks I’ve ever been too. The vibes and energy of the employees is so nice. They actually put in an effort to be nice people and work fast. We’ve all been to nyc Starbucks where the workers are like mean and grumpy. Keep up the good work Edgewater !
