Starbucks Introduce
In a city that never stops moving, a dependable coffee stop is more than just a convenience—it's a necessity. The Starbucks at 140 West St is a prime example of this, serving as a vital hub for New Yorkers and visitors in the World Trade Center area. This particular location, which operates as a "hotel Starbucks" under the auspices of a Marriott Hotel, provides the classic Starbucks menu you know and love, but with a unique, on-the-go focus tailored to its bustling neighborhood.
This Starbucks is a well-regarded spot for its friendly staff and a commitment to quality beverages. As one reviewer noted, the staff, while varying, can be "very kind." While it may be a smaller space not designed for long stays, its strategic placement and efficient service make it an ideal choice for a quick morning coffee, a midday pick-me-up, or a refreshing afternoon drink. The focus here is on convenience and getting you the high-quality coffee you need to keep up with the city’s pace.
This Starbucks is perfectly situated at 140 West St, New York, NY 10007, USA. Its location is a significant advantage, as it is "WTC World Trade Center adjacent," and near enough to Wall Street and the Brookfield Place mall. This makes it an incredibly convenient stop for professionals working in the area, tourists visiting the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, and anyone passing through this major transportation hub. While the exterior entry door is noted as being heavy, its design ensures a safe and secure environment.
Despite being a small store, accessibility is not an issue. A customer review highlights the availability of a bathroom for patrons, located just outside the store in the hotel's walkway, which is "cleaned all the time by hotel staff." This is a key detail that enhances the customer experience, as it addresses a common need in a high-traffic urban environment. The location is also easily reachable by foot from nearby car parks, the PATH train, and various subway lines, cementing its status as a highly accessible destination for a quick and reliable coffee fix.
- Takeout: The primary service model of this small, on-the-go location. The focus is on providing quick and efficient service.
- Mobile Ordering & Pickup: The store is optimized for mobile orders, allowing customers to order ahead on the Starbucks app to "avoid wait time." This is a highly recommended service, as the location can get busy.
- Full Beverage Menu: Despite the small space, the location serves the full range of classic Starbucks beverages, including hot and cold coffees, teas, espresso drinks, and Frappuccinos®.
- Bakery & Snacks: A selection of pastries, sandwiches, and other snacks are available, perfect for a quick breakfast or a light lunch on the go.
- On-site Amenities: The location provides free Wi-Fi, a valuable amenity for those needing to check emails or browse while waiting for their order.
- Convenient Hours: As a "hotel Starbucks" and a popular spot for professionals, it caters to morning commuters and the midday rush.
- Bathroom Access: A clean and well-maintained public bathroom is available for patrons just outside the store, which is a significant convenience.
- Prime Location: Its spot on West Street makes it a go-to for anyone in the World Trade Center area. The proximity to landmarks like the Oculus, Wall Street, and Brookfield Place adds to its appeal.
- Efficient Service: While wait times can occur during peak hours, the staff is generally focused on moving quickly to get customers their orders. A reviewer noted that the staff is capable of handling a busy store, though mobile ordering is suggested to bypass lines.
- Great Coffee & Drink Quality: The core product, the coffee, is consistently high-quality. A customer specifically praised a "lavender matcha drink," noting that the "drink quality was great."
- Friendly Staff: Reviews highlight the kindness and friendliness of the staff, which adds a positive and welcoming element to the fast-paced experience.
- Cleanliness: The store is noted for being "very pretty on the inside," and the nearby hotel bathroom is described as being "cleaned all the time," ensuring a pleasant experience.
- Small, Efficient Space: The "small space" is designed for a grab-and-go experience rather than a sit-down cafe. This is a key feature that makes it an ideal fit for its busy, high-traffic environment.
- Consistent Menu: Customers can rely on this location to provide the familiar menu and seasonal offerings that they expect from any Starbucks.
For any inquiries or to reach the store, you can contact this Starbucks location at their primary phone number, (929) 565-9268, or their mobile phone number, +1 929-565-9268. The physical address is 140 West St, New York, NY 10007, USA. Given the fast-paced nature of the location, using the Starbucks app to place a mobile order is the most efficient way to ensure your drink is ready for a quick pickup when you arrive.
For first-time visitors or regular commuters, the best way to enjoy this Starbucks is to lean into its strengths as an efficient, on-the-go coffee shop. A classic hot or iced latte is always a great choice, but for a unique experience, try one of their seasonal drinks or a specialty latte. The lavender matcha drink was highlighted as an excellent choice, demonstrating the quality of their specialty beverages.
For a quick bite, a classic pastry like a croissant or a fresh sandwich can perfectly complement your drink. It's a place to grab what you need and be on your way, rather than a place to linger. The convenience of its location, combined with the quick service and reliable product quality, makes it a valuable part of the daily routine for many. It's an ideal spot for a "quick bite to eat before bolting off to the airport" or a coffee run during a busy workday. The friendly staff and clean, pretty interior add to the overall positive experience, making it a highly recommended stop in the World Trade Center area.

Starbucks Reviews
I have been to Starbucks around the world. I read the reviews on this Starbucks. Not only am I shocked at how unkind reviewers are but moreso on how facts are wrong. This is a hotel Starbucks which means the Starbucks is under the auspices of the Marriott Hotel which is different than being a freestanding Starbucks. There is absolutely a bathroom for Patrons. The bathroom is out of the Starbucks, make a left and head up the walkway to the hotel bathroom which is cleaned all the time by hotel staff which these Starbucks employees are lucky for in that in too many Starbucks the Customers are absolute pigs in how they treat the bathrooms the staff are tasked to clean. Not here. This Starbucks is WTC World Trade Center adjacent, under a Marriott, near enough by to Wall Street and walkable to Brookfield Mall. The exterior entry door is very heavy. Want to blame someone? Blame NYC politics that lets crazy people wander the street even in to this store, slamming the door, smashing the glass but not anymore with this weighted glass. There are car parks near enough by, too. A W Hotel across the street. A Bills Burgers adjacent. As for staff? The staff varies. As with all Starbucks, the staff temperments vary. They had the most wonderful manager Stephen I just learned is gone. Their loss. There is always more to the stories. It would be nice if district leaders spoke to long time.It is a small space, not a sitting place. That said there is a public sitting place across the street and kitty corner to Bills Burgers as well as in the hotel.Mobile service is killing in store customer priority. Bottom line. The staff can only move so fast. Mobile customers are demanding when their phoned in order is not ready. Some of the new staff I saw today do not smile. Staff are worked hard. It was nice to see some of the Starbucks staff I have known from before.Customers- before you give rotten reviews, think even ask why. You may have cost a nice man his job!
January 04 · Carrie DevorahBetween appointments I had time to spare. Stopped in for a lavender matcha drink, the gentleman working there was very kind. The only strange thing is that he seemed to be working there alone, the store slowly began to get busy. They have no seating space but the store is very pretty on the inside. The drink quality was great, will be back.
April 13 · M OI went to this Starbucks because I had a god awful experience at the one in Brookfield pace what accommodating helpful cheerful staff they made the best coffee everyone smiled and was so pleasant what a breath of fresh air great job guys keep up the good work
June 16 · malika jacobThe drinks were good but there were no tables to sit at but it’s better than the other location we went to in Times Square area where you had to use your credit card to go to the bathroom or the lounge.
April 27 · Shannon OThis location needs more employees desperately. They are unequipped to handle 10+ people in a timely fashion. The staff usually is friendly and trying their best, but they need help.
