A Taste of Hong Kong: Introduction / Overview
Superior Wonton Noodles is not just another Chinese restaurant; it is a specialized noodle shop focused on delivering the authentic experience of Hong Kong-style wonton and noodle dishes. The restaurant’s reputation is built on the perfection of a few core elements: the handmade, generously sized wontons, the springy, al dente egg noodles, and the clear, flavorful broth. The core philosophy here is simple and satisfying: high-quality ingredients, traditional recipes, and generous servings. Diners often remark on the sheer size of the wontons, which are plumply stuffed with succulent shrimp and pork filling, a true departure from the smaller, less substantial versions found elsewhere. In the competitive New York noodle scene, Superior Wonton Noodles is frequently mentioned in conversations comparing the city's best Hong Kong-style wonton shops, a testament to its commitment to authenticity and flavor. If you are looking for a true, unpretentious bowl of culinary perfection, this is a spot that delivers on its "Superior" name.

The Essential Order: The Superior Noodle Soup
The quintessential experience begins with the Superior Noodle Soup. For the Wonton Purist: The Wonton Noodle Soup

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After I tried Maxi’s, quite a few people recommended Superior Wonton Noodle, so I decided to check it out—especially since it’s right in my neighborhood. Are their wontons really better than Maxi’s?Quick verdict: their shrimp wontons are truly SUPERIOR, closely on par with Maxi’s. I even brought home a dozen frozen ones. However, both the beef brisket and flat rice noodles were underwhelming. However, I still prefer Maxi’s for overall quality, but Superior is more affordable. I’d recommend it if you’re in the area. (86 St is my all-time favorite area for authentic Hong Kong food)*Wonton and Beef Brisket Rice Noodle $11I ordered the same thing I got at Maxi’s, and it was a few dollars cheaper here, mainly because you don’t have to pay extra for the beef brisket. The wonton was about the size of a ping pong, generously stuffed with shrimp and pork filling. The shrimp was bouncy, while the wonton skin was not too thick.Unfortunately, the beef brisket was quite tough, so I didn’t finish it. I’ll probably try the beef tendon next time…The flat rice noodles were a letdown—they were so soggy and mushy that I had to use a spoon to scoop them up. Meanwhile, my boyfriend got the thick egg noodles, and they looked much better with a springy texture.
August 05 · Ruby ChanThe small restaurant is located in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. They prepare Chinese cuisine. The restaurant primarily serves various soups and lo mein noodle dishes. Beverages are also available. I ordered a soup with wontons and fish balls. The soup broth was tasty and not salty. The wontons and fish balls were a generous size. Friendly and helpful staff.
March 15 · Steven NechamkinThe best wonton noodle place so far. Always get the three topping noodle with wontons and thin egg noodles because it’s the best. Tried some other toppings, didn’t like the fish balls, others were not that bad. It is a little pricey for the portion though.
March 14 · Zed ZVery authentic wanton noodles. Recommend to get the default superior noodles to try out all the toppings (fair warning this portion is on the big side for one)About 2 pieces of each toppings. Wanton, brisket and tendon are my top 3. The wanton is the best, very fresh, giant and stuffed with shrimp and meat. Fish ball very light and fluffy, it has a slight cilantro taste. Brisket and tendon are very soft and braised well. Beef slice is generally soft but has tough tendon which makes it hard to chew.Thin egg noodle is the authentic alkaline water noodle, some might not like the taste, you can substitute to other noodle type on the menu. They have chili oil on the table, and a small spoon of it adds a really nice kick, so be careful!Milk tea is decent, slightly too sweet, need to mix well with syrup at the bottom.
December 19 · Vicky C.Expect the servers to be loud women from Hong Kong. That's your only warning.I ordered the wonton noodles, choy sum, and hot tea.The wontons are 30% bigger than the other places I go to, but only 4 come in each bowl. They're fresh and flavorful. The shrimp are crisp, and they snap when you bite into them. They're delicious. The portion of noodles were a bit lacking so if you're a big eater, pay the extra $2 and get more noodles. Choy sum were pretty standard boiled with oyster sauce. Wish they put extra sauce. The tea is a teabag and not a tea pot. Be aware before you get the tea.Total came out to $15.70. Not a bad price.
