★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We recently visited Taureau in New York for the second time and, unfortunately, it was a letdown compared to our first experience. The restaurant felt dated, dusty, and not as well-maintained as we remembered. For the price, the overall atmosphere and cleanliness just didn’t match the expectation. We ordered the fondue, which was decent but not particularly memorable. We also tried the meat selection, and found it to be underwhelming. The quality just wasn't what you’d hope for given the cost. It’s disappointing because we had high hopes based on our previous visit, but this time it just didn’t deliver. Overall, a mediocre experience and I would probably not return.
April 26 · Jonathan RichardsI had middling hopes but found exceptional quality instead. The staff treated our family with remarkable kindness. Staff members are genuine and the meals are delicious. Their cooking remains consistent. You'll notice higher prices matched by higher standards.
August 09 · Stewart MansonI was craving fondue and learned there are not many places in NYC that does the whole thing. Taureau was great, they accept all forms of payment even though resy says otherwise. We got cheese and chocolate fondue and enjoyed it.
April 12 · Maddy CThis is absolutely my favorite fondue place, even better than anywhere I’ve been in France and Switzerland. The truffle fondue is out of this world, and the chef’s idea to bake the croutons was simply genius!! It makes the perfect combination. I’ve actually read some reviews complaining about this, but this person might not know that you need to completely dip your piece of bread in the pot and stir the bottom. Fondue is made of a combination of cheeses, and each have a different density. Therefore, with every bite, you need to stir your cheese in the fondue pot to ensure you’re picking up all the flavor. Simply delicious!
March 06 · Deb CVery nice option for meat and cheese fondue. Entrees are also good.
