★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1One of the more famous French places in the city and finally tried it out. Food is very good! The escargot and cold served foie gras were very tasty. We also tried the daily catch which was a red snapper, and the skin was so crispy. The house hanger steak is also cooked to perfection with a great sauce. And last but definitely not the least, I love the delicate candied floss on the cream puff, definitely a highlight and a good presentation of patisserie.
April 03 · Kyle LiuReally great French restaurant! To be honest, I was surprised at how much I liked it. I like French food but I tend to find it a little bit... traditional, not a lot of places stand out. The food here was great, it was definitely one of the best French restaurants I've been to and I've been to Paris!I went here with a friend and we tried several dishes. The standouts to me were the baked goat cheese tart (delicious!), the French ravioli, the filet mignon, and the banana crème brûlée. The filet mignon was probably one of the best steaks I've had. It was perfectly cooked medium rare, very well seasoned, and very tender. I love all things banana so the banana crème brûlée was fantastic.Prices are a little on the high side so it is more of a special treat type of place. I don't think it's overpriced because the food was very well made and clearly had a ton of effort and care put into it. I think it's definitely worth it but it is not a cheap meal.Service was great as well, we were in a bit of a rush because we had a show to go to after, and they very accommodating. Only other thing to mention, the website says that for credit cards they only take AMEX but when I was there I overheard someone asking and they were told that they take all major credit cards. Might be a recent change? It is worth calling to make sure.Definitely recommend, and I hope to be back sometime!
July 31 · Ros BLa Serene is hands down our favorite neighborhood spot ,a classic French bistro with charm, warmth, and consistently wonderful food. The dishes are beautifully executed, with that timeless Parisian flair. Their seared foie gras is, in our opinion, the best in New York City ,rich, velvety, and unforgettable. We came back yesterday to try their Restaurant Week menu and were honestly so impressed ,it’s such a great value, and the quality hasn’t skipped a beat. We had a small hiccup with one empty escargot (it happens!), but the kitchen immediately prepared extra three for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. That kind of care really says everything about the team here.Service is always fast, kind, and flexible. They truly make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is calm, cozy, and gently romantic ,it feels like a little escape to Paris, right in SoHo.If you’re looking for an authentic, unfussy, and truly delightful French dining experience, La Serene is the one. We recommend it to all our friends and always come back ourselves🦪🍷🥖Oh and always ask for extra veggie plate for the main course! They are the best!
July 24 · ZoeWow… just wow. One of the best meals I’ve had in NYC. My best friend and I went for Restaurant Week and devoured everything. I’m still dreaming about the ravioli and escargot from the appetizer selection. Filet mignon and hanger steaks were chefs kiss. Even the dessert was very light and dreamy. Honestly one of the best deals for Restaurant Week ~~ perfect for trying a bunch of dishes, especially if you’re with a friend or group. Even outside of Restaurant Week, I’ll be back. Service was amazing, restaurant was clean. Already excited to go back!
August 11 · Mysha AzzadI came to La Sirene in Soho during restaurant week and I was so pleasantly surprised! Although I've been to other French restaurants in nyc, my visit to La Sirene felt like the most authentic experience I could have outside of France.I tried escargot for the first time, which I thoroughly enjoyed, tried foie gras, and my salmon, that sat in a delicate saffron sauce was great. Even the cocktails we had were so delicious and balanced. Those were some of the best lemon drops I've had in my life. I'll be back with my bf for sure!
