The name itself is a nod to the surrounding community, positioning The Double Windsor not just as a business, but as an integral part of the local Brooklyn landscape.
It was founded by long-time residents who simply wanted to create the kind of place they'd want to hang out in—a spot that elevates the local bar scene through a passion for great food and excellent drinks, all delivered with an unpretentious, friendly Irish pub-inspired atmosphere. The DW has carved out a strong reputation primarily through its impressive selection of rotating craft beers and a food menu that goes far beyond typical pub grub. Patrons consistently praise the constantly changing draft list, ensuring a fresh and exciting beer experience with every visit. Combined with a cozy, inviting interior and a staff known for their friendly and professional service, The Double Windsor truly embodies the ideal neighborhood spot—a place where quality, community, and comfort perfectly converge.

- Outstanding Craft Beer Program: The DW boasts a rotating 14-tap draft list of craft beers. This selection is meticulously curated, featuring brews internationally, locally, and from across the country, appealing to true beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. What is Worth Choosing
For a New Yorker navigating the vast options in Brooklyn, The Double Windsor stands out as a genuine choice for those who value authenticity, quality, and a true neighborhood experience. It’s worth choosing for several compelling reasons that resonate with a local clientele.
First and foremost, the Craft Beer and Whiskey Selection is arguably the best reason to visit. In a city saturated with bars, The Double Windsor is committed to rotating 14 unique drafts—a challenge and a delight that ensures you can always find a new, high-quality international, local, or national brew. This dedication, paired with the 'neighborhood's largest selection of whiskeys,' makes it a haven for enthusiasts of fine spirits and beer alike.
Second, the food is a major differentiator. This is not simple microwave-reheated bar food; it is Scratch-Made, Gourmet Pub Grub. Whether you try the famous three-day preparation of the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, the consistently well-regarded Burger, or a daily special like a highly-praised mahi-mahi with saffron risotto, you are getting an elevated dining experience. The focus on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients speaks to a commitment to quality that is respected throughout the borough. Reviews frequently praise the food's 'super impressive' quality in a laid-back bar setting.
Finally, The DW delivers a truly Friendly, Unpretentious Community Vibe. The original owners’ goal of creating a comfortable, Irish pub-inspired spot for locals has paid off. It's a place where you can feel equally comfortable solo-dining at the bar or bringing a group of friends or even your family (as many reviews attest to its kid-friendly nature). The Trivia Night adds a regular, social event that strengthens the community bond. If you’re looking to escape the overly slick or 'hipster' spots and find a reliable, cozy pub that offers top-tier drinks and food without the fuss, The Double Windsor on Prospect Park West is the ideal Brooklyn choice. It's a cornerstone of the neighborhood, offering amazing beer, awesome food, and a friendly vibe—nothing more, nothing less.
The Double Windsor is more than just a place to get a drink; it's a neighborhood institution that successfully combines a sophisticated drinks menu with satisfying, thoughtfully prepared food in a warm, welcoming environment right on the edge of Prospect Park.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Came here because I heard it was one of the best burgers in park slope. It was not. I ordered a medium rare and take a look in the photo at what I got. It wasn't bad by any means but no where near "best burger". Perhaps best burger on the block. Fries were decent. Catfish sandwich decent. Overall seemed like decent typical bar/pub grub. Nothing to write home about. Atmosphere was vibrant on a Saturday at lunch time. A lot of kids running around though. Not sure if they just came from a prospect park little league or something. Would come back to try something else but only if I happen to be in that area. Would not go out of my way to come back for the burger or anything else.
May 08 · Ivan NgSuper impressive food in a laid back bar environment. I come for lunch frequently. Specials are often the way to go, although caesar with fried chicken is always good too. Friendly bartenders, good music. Photo is a special, mahi-mahi with saffron risotto!
February 20 · Jules BlockWent here for after work drinks, nice vibe, quite loud & hard to hear (however this was a friday night after work hours to be fair), drinks & food were fast. I got a caesar salad & an order of fries. the caesar salad was fine & i really liked the fries. margarita was good as well. clean bathrooms with well stocked toilet paper. food menu was big and i can see myself going again and getting something else. would recommend.
September 20 · BethStopped by before seeing a movie at Nitehawk and this place definitely hit the spot. It has a great vibe for some after work drinks and a nice weekend outing. It was busy when we went on a Monday evening but the food was delicious and the drinks were perfect, reasonably priced as well! Would come back again in the future.
May 20 · Andrew DabydeenIt's been a long time since I been here. I entered, and there were folks at the bar and a few customers closeby. After a few minutes, I saw the sign that said "Seat yourself"! I sat down and no one said anything. I noticed that the bartender and another person had an exchange about who should help me. A customer came in and ordered at the bar, so I followed suit. After ordering a Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich with Salad and an Arnold Palmer, I returned to my table. The meal came, and the salad was fresh, just greens with oil & vinegar. The sandwich had a sliced, coated chicken breast, which was fried too hard. The coleslaw atop the meat was not seasoned, and the bun was nicely toasted. If the salad is the best thing on the plate, then you should reconsider. This bar/restaurant is short of being a dive. They rely on neighborhood regulars to keep the business afloat. BITD, patrons clambered to get into this spot, and there was always a wait. The least they could do is greet a potential customer when they walk-in...CHEERS🫥
