The Green Growler Introduce
The Green Growler, nestled in the scenic village of Croton-On-Hudson, NY, is a standout establishment in the Westchester County social scene. It is far more than a typical bar; it functions as a highly-rated craft beer store, a vibrant taproom, and a beloved community hub. This dual identity allows it to serve New Yorkers in multiple ways: as a destination to enjoy a diverse, rotating selection of independent brews on tap and as a retail location to purchase specialty beers, wines, and ciders to take home in cans, bottles, or traditional growlers.
What truly sets The Green Growler apart is its atmosphere and dedication to local culture. Customers consistently praise the knowledgeable and friendly team, creating a welcoming and friendly environment that makes the space a cool spot for people of all ages—including a welcoming nature toward younger audiences for specific, curated events run by local promoters. This inclusive approach, combined with a commitment to providing quality entertainment like live music, makes it a genuine gathering place. The establishment is designed to be casual, cozy, and trendy, providing a comfortable backdrop for socializing, unwinding, or simply enjoying one of their numerous craft selections.
From the extensive selection of predominantly New York State and Hudson Valley independent breweries to the thoughtful provision of space for various community events, The Green Growler embodies the modern, sophisticated yet relaxed spirit of the New York craft beverage world. It’s a place where you can quickly grab a take-out crowler, settle in for a long evening of live jazz, or participate in a lively trivia night with friends.
The Green Growler is conveniently situated at 4 Croton Point Ave, Croton-On-Hudson, NY 10520. Its location in the lower Hudson Valley makes it a prime meeting spot for Westchester County residents. Notably, it is within walking distance of the Croton-Harmon train station, making it a highly accessible destination for commuters and visitors arriving from other parts of the New York metropolitan area.

- Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lot: Dedicated on-site parking spaces designed for accessible vehicle use.

The Green Growler operates with a focus on both retail and on-premise services, offering diverse ways for New Yorkers to enjoy their products and space.
- Outdoor Seating: A highly valued amenity, especially during pleasant weather, allowing patrons to enjoy their drinks and food outside. Dogs are also allowed in this area.
- Dine-in Service: Providing the traditional bar and taproom experience for patrons to socialize and enjoy food and beverages on-site.

- Happy Hour Specials: Offering discounted happy hour drinks to encourage early evening visits and provide an affordable option for local residents.
- Food Service: Serving a selection of in-house food at the bar, including small bites, flatbreads, and panini sandwiches, with flexibility to allow outside food when the kitchen is closed, maximizing customer choice.
The establishment's highlights showcase its commitment to both quality beverage selection and engaging community entertainment.
- Exceptional Craft Beer Selection: A widely praised feature, focusing heavily on independent breweries from New York State and the greater Hudson Valley, ensuring a fresh and constantly rotating tap list.

The strongest draw is arguably the incredible depth of their beer selection, which champions local New York breweries, providing a rotating and exciting menu that appeals to beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. The ability to buy these exceptional products to go—whether in a growler or a custom-built pack of cans—adds immense value for the local consumer.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Evan and his team are the absolute best. I'm a local musician/promoter who runs all ages events. The Green Growler is the best place I go to for these events. An all ages space that is welcoming to the younger audiences despite the fact they mainly sell beer. The bar tenders are knowledgeable, helpful, and incredibly nice. They really develop a welcoming and friendly environment trying to be a cool spot for the people of Westchester to hang out and enjoy themselves. I love working with this place and will continue to do so in the future. You have to check this spot out!
August 13 · Elio VezzaOk- why would you go to a place with 3 star food? Because the food is actually the bar Trying hard to meet a need & building up: but THE DRAW this the anazing live musicJazz band & the after-Session jam session with even more jazz true lovers coming together to support their Art. Certainly worth it, the Craft Beer alone is worth it: but with the not-ear-drum-bursting jazz: just Wonderful
September 03 · pts ptsI went there 4 times already and I must say that for a recent new comer to the US, this place is a hidden gem. Great craft beer selection and Evan (the owner) is a pretty awesome dude. I am a punk rock sound mixer and filmmaker from Lisbon, Portugal that has been touring the world since 1996 and I really thought that now living in corky expensive Westchester that it would be rare to feel and get in touch with “real scrappy people”, I guess I was wrong so thank you Growlers for having me, much appreciated. Last Tuesday was night jam sessions hosted by Paul Francis which is indeed an awesome fellow. Great jam ladies and gentlemen.P.s. my only two cents recco goes to the happy hour 🍻 it could definitely be a bit more attractive so i could spend all my afternoons at The Green Growler hehe
March 07 · Victor CastroHad a great time at the Green Growler…. Talked with the owner for a bit and it’s nice to hear family and good stories! The food was good and the beer selection was vast. Make your own 6 pack or drafts and even non alcoholic choices. My pretzel/mustard was excellent. The pita/hummus was fresh and tasty. As much as I was there early I can see this as a fun place to hang out any time!! There’s live music and good friends, what more can someone ask!?!?Oh and on top of all that I was able to meet the new Hudson Valley Ambassador Marietta. Oh yes…. We Elites are in for it! Haha. I look forward to more events!
January 26 · Nash WilliamsEnjoyed coming here for a few quick bites and a nice draft.Discovered this gem through yelp. Such a nice staff. Very homie and down to earth. Loved the hipster vibes and the fact that you can build your own beer pack to go!The bites were extremely reasonable and cheap! I mean $3 pretzel and $2 pizza? $5 happy hour! This place is where it’s at! Definitely a place for small bites and pub style food. If covid wasn’t around it would def be a spot I’d normally go to to hang with friends and grab a few beers.Love the artsy vibes and the sticker wall as well as the fact that the staff will recommend what’s poppin and some of the staff faves.I was excited to try one of their sours. As soon as I ordered they let me know they ran out. They totally made my night. Not only did they comp the beer and let me have the last sips on the house but they also offered me a replacement. They happened to be carrying my favorite beer brewers from Hudson Valley Bewery. This sour was an even better option and I got to have the best of both worlds. Such a nice experience. Very few people and you can definitely just come here to order a few beers to go and some quick bites. Thanks guys for being open and for working hard!
November 13 · Marietta CI don’t like beer, they always have plenty of other options. The selection changes. I enjoy the variety. They have events. I haven’t done the table top gaming night yet, but it looks fun. It’s a good spot. easy to get to by car or train.
October 16 · Jen MExcellent local brewpub! Great vibes, local bands, near the train, and on the way to the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. Shout out to Lindsay who is a wonderful and amazing human - thank you for everything! 🍻
