★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Beautiful people, so kinda and hospitable— I think about it to this day! I went there with my coworker and her sister and my brother. They got 1 plate to share and he added in extra rice, peas and plantains as he was worried it wouldn’t be enough food for them 🥹 He added in a free order of waffle fries for my brother as my brother expressed interest in them after we had already paid. His actions were so thoughtful and endearing, I tell everyone I know who’s visiting NYC! I was visiting NYC from California but I’m looking forward to getting it again on my next trip. Their jerk chicken is ELITE!! I love would recommend this place every single time… Thank you for your hospitality and great food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
August 31 · AfafFood is good taste a little different because it’s gluten free but still good nontheless there’s an extra 2 charge if you use a card to pay and the coconut rice isn’t tooo crazy
September 16 · Kam SimonI got the jerk chicken medium box meal last Thursday. The portion and food was excellent, and the King gave friendly service. After I'd finished I went back to the van to ask about the fried plantains (I wanted to check that that's what they were as I had never had them before and they were delicious) and to compliment the meal. He confirmed that they were and gave me a box with about 6 more plantains in - free of charge! A great gesture on the last day of my trip to NYC! A friendly guy serving great food.
August 31 · Mark ClementAmazing fried ripe plantains. I would go back every time for these. I had a curried chicken. The only option for rice was rice and peas (bummer, I know). The seasonings was not Caribbean seasons. I was hoping for a flavor close to Golden Crust (and other popular Jamaican restaurants). The rice was a bit too moist and the chicken were cubes of chicken breast. I was looking forward to the bone and everything so that was disappointing. The steamed veggies were good. The truck might be Caribbean inspired, but definitely not Caribbean flavor. I’m happy I tried it though. Service was great and the area the food was being prepared on appeared clean. The staff who assisted were polite as well. I found this truck outside Mount Sinai Main Hospital (Madison Ave).
February 03 · Aurora Autumn (Season of Grace)This place blew me away, in the true sense of the phrase! I traveled an hour from Queens to eat there and it was worth every last bite. I tried the Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken, the Oxtail Bowls as well as the Sweet Plantains, and they were each mindblowingly flavorful! I loved talking to the guy who runs the place as well, who made me try two of their special Colas which are way better than any Coca Cola/Pepsi product out there. I have never tried authentic Caribbean food before because it isn’t usually Halal, but this place both nails the Caribbean flavors and makes it all 100% halal for people like me to enjoy. Find me a better food truck in NYC, I’ll wait!
