Tito Santana Taqueria Introduce
For New Yorkers seeking an easy, scenic escape from the city and a vibrant culinary experience, the Hudson Valley town of Beacon is a consistently recommended destination. Located just 60 miles north of Manhattan, Beacon is celebrated for its thriving arts scene, hiking trails, and walkable Main Street. Nestled right in the heart of this energetic corridor is Tito Santana Taqueria, a local favorite that has become a destination in its own right for those craving fresh, creative, and authentic Mexican food.
Tito Santana Taqueria has been a staple in the Beacon community for over a decade, distinguishing itself with a menu that offers a twist on classic Mexican dishes. Stepping inside, guests are often immediately struck by the restaurant's visually engaging, vibrant, and cozy decor, creating an atmosphere that is both casual and trendy. It is a spot that welcomes everyone, being family-friendly, good for groups, and notably popular for solo dining, lunch, and dinner. The commitment to fresh, scratch-made food, combined with a lively setting, makes this taqueria an essential stop for locals and tourists making a day trip up from New York City.
The restaurant prides itself on using seasonal ingredients to craft its daily specials, ensuring a dynamic and interesting menu alongside its established classics. Patrons regularly praise the friendly and patient staff, who are ready to offer recommendations and ensure orders are correctly customized, including catering to requests for non-spicy options.

One of Beacon’s biggest draws for New Yorkers is its effortless accessibility via the Metro-North Railroad. Upon arriving at the Beacon station, the Taqueria is just a short, manageable walk—around ten minutes—up the street, making it one of the first and most inviting culinary destinations you encounter on Main Street. The town is highly walkable, but for those who prefer not to walk, the Beacon Free Loop public bus also operates nearby. For guests driving from the greater New York region, the restaurant benefits from readily available free street parking in the vicinity.
The restaurant's convenient position on Main Street also means it is perfectly located for combining a delicious meal with other popular Beacon activities. It’s an ideal lunch or dinner spot to fuel up before or after a visit to the world-renowned Dia Beacon art museum, a hike up Mount Beacon, or an afternoon spent browsing the unique galleries and shops that line the street.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve wanted to go here for a while so my expectations may have been high. There were a lot of vegetarian options, which is what I was there for. Visually, the restaurant is engaging. The decor is vibrant and has you looking everywhere. What we ordered: plant meat taco; portobello taco; tofu taco; grilled steak taco; basic burrito + steak; cheese empanada; kale & sweet potato empanada.Drinks are available in bottles/cans. They have an excellent selection of beers, ciders and premixed cocktails. The steak burritos were a hit, along with the grilled steak tacos and suffered no complaints - other than the burrito needing to be bigger. The plant meat taco was too salty. The portobello taco was good, needed a contrasting flavor though. The tofu taco was excellent. My favorite, by far. Perfect mix of flavor and seasoning. Unfortunately, both empanadas were a “no” for me. They both tasted like old fry oil and were soggy, not crispy. The kale & sweet potato were just that, no other seasoning.Notwithstanding, I would definitely return for the items I liked and to try a few more.
September 15 · Jaime SahadeoUpdate:Ordered the same stuff got a good avocado but they forgot to substitute the rice with lettuce. But everything was good.Updated review:I ordered extra avocado, and they gave me a brown avocado. I only attached one photo, but the avocado was brown all the way throught so it wasn't just a bit of it reacting with air it was actually overripe and going bad. What the duck. Paid extra for that, and they literally scammed me out of the money. Horrible. I used to buy takeout here a lot, well, not anymore. Ruined my mood.I really like the bowl with brisket a lot it's the best and a huge mix of flavors. I'm glad the cashier recommended me that bowl. The cashier was super nice, friendly, and patient, and she made sure to get my order correct and get the non spicy salsa. There's a lot of good in the bowl. The brisket tastes the best to any other supplement of meat, in my opinion. The beans are delicious. Everything else is very good mixed together the rice, guacamole, salsa, corn, Pico, cheese, and brisket. I also later ordered another bowl with Kale and Sweet potato and added a bunch of other things on top like avocados and lettuce and stake and it was a huge delicious bowl that I couldn't finish in one go but I was so glad to have left overs. 😋 I have also tried their nachos in the restaurant itself, and they were outstanding. Tacos were pretty good, too. But my favorite will always be the bowl. 🫶 The only concern would be the shrimp because it didn't taste well other than that everything is very good. Here's the picture of the bowl that I ordered. My little puppy Michael also likes the Brisket he is demanding some right now. 😄
November 09 · BAN AnnaA very lively place with great food! Trying to get a train? Going for a quick snack? Or just having a full meal with the family? I know the perfect place! You get great food for its low price compared to the rest of beacon! It you’re looking for tacos, don’t forget about their taco Tuesday deal! $3 per taco 😋
November 05 · Kye NookFood was authentic and delicious! My girls are big empanada fans, they had chicken and pork ones and gave it a 10/10. Flavorful, fried just right. I had a chicken burrito and it was delicious. Lots of outdoor seating as well as indoors. Overall great experience. Recommend.
November 29 · Shirley MWe had the crunch wrap steak & shrimp, chopped cheese, and gauc bites. It was all good and priced reasonably. Nice ambiance and ample seating. It wasn't so busy at 445pm on Friday (but also raining). The town strip is adorable and worth a walk after.
