From a menu perspective, the creative and luxurious offerings like the Uni Ikura Tororo Soba and the Black Truffle Yakuzen Curry Soba show the fusion of traditional technique with modern, upscale ingredients. Even the desserts, like the Soba Ice Cream, incorporate the buckwheat theme, providing a cohesive and memorable dining narrative from start to finish.
To fully appreciate the artistry of Uzuki, New Yorkers should focus on the signature soba dishes that showcase Chef Kotani's expertise.
The classic choice is the Towari Soba ($28.00). As this is the 100% buckwheat preparation, it is the purest expression of the chef's craft and is often enjoyed cold to appreciate the noodle's unique texture and nutty flavor with the accompanying premium dashi.
For a richer, more decadent experience, the Duck Shio Soba ($42.00) is consistently recommended, featuring roasted, confit, and Peking duck in a savory broth. Another highly sought-after luxurious option is the Black Truffle Yakuzen Curry Soba ($58.00), which offers an intense, aromatic, and complex flavor profile that is a unique take on Japanese curry.
Among the appetizers, the Honkuzu Soba Neri Tofu ($13.00) is a must-try. Praised for its rich and creamy texture, it provides an innovative, buckwheat-based counterpoint to the noodle mains. Finally, ensure your meal concludes with a dessert that continues the theme, such as the Soba Ice Cream ($10.00) or the striking Soba Matcha Parfait ($19.00), completing the comprehensive and masterfully executed culinary journey.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It doesn’t get better than this! Been to countless restaurants and Uzuki stood out for its next-to-none craftsmanship, amazing food, and lovely atmosphere. Check out Bon Appetit’s video on Uzuki (“A Day Making Some of the World’s Best Soba Noodles”) to see how much skill and artistry goes into these noodles. We got the tofu, salmon ikura cold soba, duck soba, and soba ice cream and every bite of each dish was incredible. Was truly worth every cent! The ceramics they use are also full of character and actually made by the chef himself!
September 13 · Stacy ShenUzuki is in a really cool space with a lot of nice ceramics being displayed throughout the restaurant. The apps were really good especially the soba tofu. But I didn’t like their soba noodles at all. They were beautifully presented but the noodles broke easily and had no chew at all. They were also ridiculously expensive for what it is. The curry soba was so spicy I was shocked. The combination of spices also just made me cough a lot. It didn’t take like a Japanese curry to me. The desserts were good as well. But it was so disappointing that the mains were not good at all in my opinions.
June 27 · Jing YangUzuki was overall an amazing experience and one of my favourites in NYC! It was very unique and hit a high mark for everything. The ambience and interior were captivating, and the overall service was nice. My boyfriend and I are big fans of cold noodles and sashimi so the cold salmon ikura udon really hit the spot for us. I didn’t order the hot duck shio soba but my friend who did said it was delicious! I tried a bit of their broth and it was very flavourful. If I were to go back to NYC I would definitely come back to Uzuki to try out more things from their menu since it was definitely one of my favourite highlights of my trip!
July 05 · Janet HUnique restaurant/studio concept. Lovely owner and servers. While I have immense appreciation for the craft of soba making and the clear attention to detail in preparation, it did not live up to the expectation. We tried a few starters, the premium sashimi and duck soba - all somehow lacked depth and flavor. Not bad but not amazing either to warrant another visit.
April 26 · Tracy X.Food 5 | Atmosphere 5 | Service 5Made a counter resy, made it on time, no counter seat avail, waited a bit, got a dining room table, turned out OK too.Food was amazingly fresh and delicious. Presentation is 👍🏼. No complaints. Just praise.I checked out the back area, looks like they make their own clam shell serving dishes and chopstick holders - kinda cool to see the process.
