Villard Introduce
Villard is a name that resonates with elegance and history in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Situated within a magnificent and historic building, this New American restaurant offers an upscale dining experience that is both visually stunning and gastronomically ambitious. The atmosphere is a key part of Villard's allure. With a cozy and trendy feel, the main dining room exudes a unique charm that is often better suited for an evening of cocktails than a bustling morning breakfast. Despite the dim lighting in some areas, the overall ambiance is one of sophisticated luxury, making it a popular choice for those looking for a special dining destination. The grand and beautiful space provides a backdrop that is perfect for a leisurely meal, offering a sense of escape from the city's frantic pace. Villard is particularly popular for brunch, lunch, and dinner, and it is a place where many come for a trendy and upscale meal, whether they are a New Yorker or a visitor to the city.
Villard’s menu offers a diverse range of classic and modern New American dishes. For breakfast and brunch, guests can choose from a wide selection of plates, from classic American fare to more unique and inspired options. The menu features staples like the American Breakfast, Two Eggs, and Eggs Benedict, ensuring there’s something for traditionalists. For those seeking something more distinctive, the Lemon Mascarpone Pancakes or the Brioche French Toast offer a sweet indulgence, while the Shakshouka provides a savory and flavorful alternative. The restaurant’s commitment to quality is evident in its use of fresh ingredients, with options like Seasonal Berries, Fresh Fruit, and Greek Yogurt. While some dishes, like the American Breakfast, may have a simple presentation, others, such as the Avocado Toast, are known for their beautiful plating. This combination of classic and creative dishes ensures that every guest can find something to enjoy on the menu, making it a solid choice for a group with varied tastes.
The experience at Villard is designed to be a luxurious one, complete with table service and a full bar offering. The restaurant is well-equipped to handle different dining needs, from solo dining to group gatherings. The atmosphere is often filled with a mix of groups and tourists, all drawn to the grand setting. However, it is important to note that the prices reflect this upscale environment. As one customer mentioned, the dishes are "insanely priced" for what they are, and a single cup of coffee can be quite expensive. This is a point to consider for those who are price-conscious. The restaurant's popularity means that reservations are recommended, especially for brunch, so planning ahead is a good idea to secure a table. The service is a point of varying feedback; some guests have found it to be rushed or forceful, while others have praised its efficiency. Villard offers a full bar onsite, providing a range of alcohol, beer, cocktails, and wine to accompany your meal. The availability of high chairs and wheelchair-accessible features makes it a welcoming spot for a diverse range of patrons.
In conclusion, Villard offers an undeniably beautiful and upscale dining experience in a prime Manhattan location. It’s a place to go when the ambiance and setting are as important as the meal itself. While the prices are on the higher end, and service can be a point of debate, its popularity for groups and tourists speaks to its appeal as a high-end destination. The menu has options to satisfy a variety of palates, and the bar service provides a perfect pairing for any meal. The restaurant is a fixture of the local upscale dining scene, and for those who are looking to treat themselves to a luxurious meal in a stunning setting, Villard presents a unique option. It is a place for a special occasion, where the historic charm and grand architecture contribute to a memorable experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Service was absolutely terrible. Rude, forceful and rushed. We don’t pay attention to prices but when we got the bill we were shocked that ONE CUP of coffee was $11. No wonder we were asked at least 5 times, in a demanding and aggressive manner if we wanted more coffee. The tips on just two cups of coffee is great! The ambience is nice, the guest atmosphere was ok but that’s about it. The bacon was pretty terrible. And the dishes uninspiring and absolutely insanely priced. There are so many amazing breakfast places in NYC, if you are not a tourist and stay at the hotel anyway, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.
April 28 · Nina HThe place is very pretty, although ambiance is better fitted for drinks than breakfast, it is quite dark in the main room. When it comes to food, it is definitely pricey for what it is, I had a latter and a coconut yogurt with granola, with tax and gratuity it was $45. Yogurt was pretty tasty, but the latter wasn't great, just get regular coffee. American breakfast looked very mediocre, presentation and type of food. Avocado Toast is pretty, and I heard lamb shakshuka is pretty good. Don't expect amazing service either.
August 29 · KaterinaWe had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Villard every day during our stay at Lotte New York Palace, and it was truly a delightful experience. The restaurant's interior is absolutely stunning, with its beautiful, historic architecture adding an elegant touch to every meal. The food was consistently delicious, offering a variety of well-prepared dishes that made each morning special. But what truly stood out was the exceptional service we received, particularly from Shoyeb. His attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and commitment to ensuring we had a great experience made all the difference.Villard is not just a place to eat—it's an experience.
August 17 · Kay QueBeautiful restaurant with ancient decor that adds a lot of character to this place. The only problem is that the service here is very slow. People are nice, they seem short-staffed, and the staff are not well trained. You can stare at the eye as they walk towards you, and yet they will be completely oblivious that you need them and tries to get their attention, and they will just walk by and ignore you. It seems that they are actively avoiding eye contact with something Rather than looking out to help. You literally have to slack them down. Wave your hand with huge gesture that people could see you miles away and then they will come by. And I'm not exaggerating. For the price we pay, we expect a little more attentive way staff and a bit better service than this.
June 12 · Michael Wu PhDI had breakfast at the Villard while staying at the Lotte Palace Hotel recently. The food itself was delicious. I had it via room service the day before as well. The French toast was to die for and the bacon is done extremely well. Today I had the shakshouka, which was delicious but had ONE poached egg in it for $37!! My biggest complaint was inconsistent service…I was seated next to the server station, and it was chaotic. Arguing, slamming drawers, rustling silverware…it was anything but peaceful and organized. Id also note, breakfast here is NOT cheap. I’d recommend breakfast here but would stick to room service given the option.
