Waters Edge Cafe Introduce
The Water's Edge Cafe holds a special place in the hearts of Ridgewood, New Jersey residents, serving as the official concession stand for the beloved Graydon Pool. This seasonal establishment is not a year-round, full-service restaurant, but rather a dedicated food and refreshment spot that enhances the experience of a summer day at the pool. Operating during the Graydon Pool season, typically from early June through Labor Day, the cafe provides convenient and enjoyable dining options for families and individuals looking to grab a bite without leaving the fun.
While its operation is seasonal and focused on a casual summer crowd, it's considered an essential part of the Graydon Pool experience. For those spending a day swimming, sunbathing, or enjoying the various pool amenities, the cafe offers a welcome break and an easy way to satisfy cravings. It’s the kind of local spot where memories of summer are made, blending the simple pleasure of good food with the relaxed atmosphere of a community pool.
The menu at Water's Edge Cafe, as a concession stand, is typically geared toward simple, classic summer fare. This focus on easy, crowd-pleasing foods ensures quick service and options that are perfect for a poolside environment. Customers have noted the menu offers "simple summer foods but outstanding" quality, which speaks to its commitment to fresh ingredients and enjoyable preparation, even in a high-volume seasonal setting.
A key highlight of the menu is the availability of fresh items, such as salads with marinated chicken, indicating an effort to provide options beyond traditional concession staples. However, as some feedback suggests, the overall selection is still primarily casual and may not feature an extensive range of dedicated "healthier choices."
Visitors can also often look forward to featured daily specials. The staff's familiarity with these specials, including preparation details and substitution possibilities, is a positive note that elevates the standard concession experience, providing a more personalized and knowledgeable service. Simple summer favorites like burgers and other snack items are consistently available, though wait times can fluctuate depending on the volume of orders and the experience level of the seasonal staff.
The cafe is a simple Restaurant type, primarily a walk-up/order counter. This designation reflects its function as a food service provider within a recreational facility, where the ambiance is naturally tied to the poolside environment. The atmosphere is generally described as a "nice... having lunch outside by the water," which perfectly captures the seasonal, outdoor-centric nature of the establishment.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love legacy hospitality joint venture this past summer with graydon pool. Their menu is simple summer foods but outstanding! I had the chance to meet with vance, tatianan and randi a few times and they were always friendly. They often featured a special that they knew exactly how it was made, and substitutions if possible. Salads are fresh with marinated chicken!
September 03 · Randi MorenoPlace is run by kids. They are friendly, but slow. They don’t seem able to prepare multiple orders at one time. Shouldn’t really take 1/2 hour to get a burger, especially when no one else is waiting for food. Food is fine. No really healthier choices, but that in itself is a choice the place makes. I appreciate the free ice water. But bottom line is that the kids are not being trained to work efficiently, so they seem inexperienced and casual. Operation feels sleepy and it's too bad. I love this pool. There is something really nice about having lunch outside by the water. Maybe I will just have to bring my own food from now on.
August 22 · Leslie LiThis used to be a great business, but this year service has been terrible. Last week, I ordered dinner for my kids and they told us it would be 10 minutes. 30 minutes later, they still hadn't gotten our order ready and when I asked about it, it turned out they were making things wrong. They had made us chicken sandwiches instead of the chicken tenders that the kids had wanted. So that took another 10 minutes to sort out, and there was no apology about making the mistake. Nor were we the only one who got the wrong order because someone else came back with a cheeseburger saying they had ordered the grilled cheese. If they had been really busy, I might have understood the delay or mistakes but not the lack of apology, but they weren't even that busy. They were mostly standing around and taking their time checking order slips and figuring out what they were supposed to make. Today was no better because at lunch time, they couldn't figure out how to change the tape on the register and let a big line build up while they spent over 15 minutes fumbling around. I know that good help is hard to find right now, but it really isn't an excuse to let service lapse so much. Having a monopoly on food at Graydon isn't a good reason to not care.
July 07 · Lisbi AbrahamService is too slow. I’ve got a two year old and I come to the pool alone, it’s hard to have to wait for the food and manage him, it just should be more family friendly and quicker. They never offer napkins, they never get the drinks right away
July 11 · Vanessa McGovernThe Crab Melt was outstanding!!!! And the Crab Pretzels appetizer was enough for 4 of us and it was absolutely amazing!!!!. And the complimentary Cornbread was delicious!!!!!I can not wait to return to this restaurant!
