A Taste of Seafood is part of a larger network of local businesses that contribute to the unique character of Harlem. It represents a style of eating that is deeply rooted in the community, where comfort food and fresh ingredients meet. The establishment is known for its focus on fried seafood, a staple of many soul food restaurants. However, as with any popular eatery, customer experiences can vary, and it's always helpful to be aware of what others have said. Some patrons have praised the crispy texture of their fish and shrimp, highlighting the satisfaction that comes with a well-prepared fried dish. Others have pointed out inconsistencies with side dishes, mentioning that some items, like macaroni and cheese or yams, have had a more liquid-like consistency than expected. This feedback, while critical, provides valuable insight. It suggests that while the seafood is often a highlight, a visit may be a matter of timing and personal taste when it comes to the sides. It's a reminder that dining out is an individual experience, and what one person loves, another might find a bit different from their usual preference.
The restaurant's presence on 3rd Avenue places it in a high-traffic area, making it a convenient stop for many. A Taste of Seafood Reviews
The food I bought yesterday from this location was like soup… ewww. I placed an order late around 11:30pm. I order cat fish, yams and mac n cheese and an order of shrimp. The catfish was good but the yams and Mac n cheese both were like soup… not baked Mac n cheese. All the juice drippings from each side had my catfish dreaming in liquid. I unusually order from the location on 8th Avenue only but I was in the area so I thought I’d make a purchase there instead. What a mistake. $40 dollars down the drain. I would not recommend this location. Whoever the owner is needs to reevaluate who you have cooking and preparing authentic soul food in Harlem because that was not it!!!
August 08 · T TrumanI’m giving it 1 star because mac cheese was nasty and collard green did not have any seasoning my fish and shrimp was good nice and crispy they also need better customer service they need some females working in there….. yall have to do better
August 08 · Keke walkerWhen you say light seasoning, this is what you get. I order here all the time but this would be the last. Whoever was working the kitchen on 11/16/24 at dinner time needs to be trained again.Inedible! We threw it out since they were not only defrosted, they simply did not care to read my instruction. The shells were broken and as if the bag was thrown around a few times before it was packed. The shrimp was overdone and gooey at the same time. Not sure how you can achieve that but they did.
November 17 · Derik CorsoOne of the best spots to eat at in Harlem my only issue with them is they never have the raw clams other than that no complaints.
July 12 · Alvin SmileyTheir food is the best. Well seasoned and delicious. The fried whiting sandwich is definitely a must have. Fried once you order so it's piping hot when you get it🤤. One of my favorite soul restaurants in Nyc
