What is Worth Choosing
For first-time diners and seasoned fans alike, several items on the Abu Rass menu are particularly worth choosing to fully experience the restaurant's authentic flavors.
Start your meal with the Hummus, often cited by customers as a favorite, or explore the varied cold and hot starters like the Fattoush Salad, a vibrant mix of greens and toasted pita, or the Fried Kibbeh. The appetizer section is deep, including many traditional dips and small plates like Muhammara (a spicy pepper and walnut dip), Baba Ghanoush (grilled eggplant dip), and various 'Fateh' dishes, which feature layered ingredients over chickpeas. A Mixed Appetizers Plate is an excellent choice for sharing and trying a variety of delicious options.
The main entrees, particularly the grilled items (BBQ), are the heart of the menu. The Mixed Kebab Platter or the more substantial Large Mix Plate, featuring a combination of Shish Kebab, Kofta Kebab, Shish Taouk, and shawarma, is an impressive and highly recommended feast. The Whole Grilled Chicken is another popular choice, perfect for a family meal. For a quick, satisfying bite, the Shawarma Lavash Chicken Sandwich is a local favorite.
Don't miss the Daily Specials, which showcase regional culinary masterpieces. The Mansaf ($20.00), the national dish of Jordan, is typically made with lamb (or sometimes chicken) cooked in a distinctive, tangy fermented dried yogurt sauce (Jameed), served over rice and bread. The Molokhoya with Chicken ($16.00) is a traditional Middle Eastern green stew made from jute mallow leaves, often cooked in a rich broth and served with chicken and rice. These specials offer a true, deep dive into traditional Middle Eastern home cooking that is not widely available in New Jersey.
To finish, the classic Baklava, Mahalabia, or Rice Pudding, all priced at $7.25, provide a perfectly sweet end to the hearty meal. Pair any dish with the famous mint tea or one of the freshly squeezed juices, such as the invigorating Lemonade with Mint, for a truly complete and unforgettable dining experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This was my first time at this restaurant, and I was so impressed! The service was excellent our waiter, Ali, was so kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. We started with some appetizers that were fresh and flavorful, the perfect way to kick off the meal. The main dishes were just as impressive everything was well-seasoned, cooked perfectly, and so delicious. Overall, the food and service together made it such a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!
September 21 · Aarifa GowaniMake sure to come hungry! Fantastic portions for the price, and no shortage of delicious food! Try the dips and get the hot tea. Shahid and Ahkmed are were great servers.
September 28 · Dana LI had the BEST experience at Abu Rass! It was my first time trying Palestinian food and wow… everything was so delicious. The portions were super generous and the flavors were just perfect. What made it even nicer was the vibe there. Even a street cat that hangs around was treated so kindly by the staff and customers, which really warmed my heart. ( I’m obviously a cat person)So glad my sister brought me here — I’m already looking forward to going back next time I visit her.
September 12 · Myllena LopesGreat place. The food is delicious. I love that they have little plates of different things as you will see in the pictures. The meats are also delicious. You can order the mixed platter. Their bread is super good. Their hummus became one my favorites. They have a mint lemonade which is amazing. The staff is friendly.
April 04 · Edwin MoranOne of the best restaurants in NJ! We had the mixed plates, hummus, and salad. The meat was super juicy and delicious. The Beirut hummus was out of this world. Ismail was super kind and friendly—he even gave us mint tea and dessert on the house.
