★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Ai Ki Ya is a cozy Japanese izakaya that truly feels like a hidden gem straight out of Tokyo. I came for their sukiyaki hotpot, and it was so flavorful and comforting, easily one of the best I’ve had in NYC. Their grilled skewers are cooked in the kitchen and served hot, so you can just sit back and enjoy. Great drink selection too, with a full bar and Japanese vibes all around. Whether it’s a solo night, girls’ night, or date night, this place is such a vibe. Will definitely be back!
September 04 · Bella LuMy family and I stopped by this restaurant for dinner. Since we weren't super hungry, we wanted to try some sushi and skewers. Fortunately, we found the perfect place. We ordered one of their skewer platters and loved it. It was so good that we decided to add the American Wagyu and chicken thigh skewers to our order. As for the sushi, we really enjoyed the sashimi salad. The fish was fresh and complemented the salad and dressing nicely. Our kids ordered the Fancy and Rainbow rolls, and overall, they liked both. The only complaint was that there was a bit more rice than usual in the rolls. The staff was fast and friendly as well. Lastly, the prices were very reasonable given the location.Overall, we had a great dining experience here and will definitely return in the future.
April 22 · Tuan LeFun atmosphere and delicious food! We really enjoyed their skewers, especially the quail egg with bacon! The rainbow roll and Takoyaki were our favorites. The Salmon Tataki is a must try and I loved the frozen passion fruit margarita. Will be back!
August 22 · LaraThe soft shell crab salad was excellent and my favorite. The unagi 3 way was great though the servers didn't give great instructions on how to properly try it 3 ways, you should first 1. try it as is, 2. try it with some wasabi and toppings, 3. try it with the broth and continue with the method you like best. The chicken gristle and thigh skewers were quite good. The mochi skewer was underwhelming, I didn't like the mayonnaise.Overall I highly recommend the soft shell crab salad
September 19 · GarvinTheir menu is huge, seriously massive. Two full pages filled with dish names. I feel like anyone could find something they like. I went mainly for the beef tripe hotpot. It was fine. The broth was a bit bland, but the flavor overall was ok. The skewers were good. The mushrooms were overcooked and too dry, but the meat was nice and juicy. Probably not worth making a special trip for, but if you’re in the area, it’s an option
