When seeking a deli in the New York area, particularly in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park, Baba's Deli & Beer offers compelling reasons to choose it for your next meal. Above all, the sheer variety and creativity of the menu are what make it a destination. Where else can you grab a "Sunset Park Special" or a "Rocky Balboa" sandwich on the go? This vast selection ensures that you can find a different, exciting meal every time you visit, eliminating menu fatigue which can be common in quick-service spots. The dedicated hot and cold sections, featuring comfort food like the "Philly Parm" and the "Pastrami Melt," guarantee a satisfying, hearty New York deli experience.
Another crucial factor for New York residents is the seamless blend of convenience and community focus. The dual offering of both takeout and delivery accommodates busy schedules and the need for quick, reliable food service. While the available customer reviews point to potential customer service issues related to the older man behind the counter and payment processing—describing experiences of alleged rudeness and confusion over change—these negative points, which reflect a severe disconnect from professional standards, must be weighed against the functional convenience and menu variety. Patrons should visit prepared for these reported interaction risks. However, if the priority is a quick, value-driven, and expansive sandwich menu with essential accessibility features like the wheelchair entrance and SNAP/EBT payments, Baba's Deli & Beer provides a practical, if potentially challenging, option in the Brooklyn deli landscape. The menu itself remains a testament to the classic, hearty sandwich culture of New York.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE!The older man behind the counter was severely rude and accused me of having no money in my debit or credit cards when they all repeatedly declined. I told him that it was not nice to say things like that to a customer, and he told me to leave. I suggested that maybe the system needed to be restarted, and he rolled his eyes at me. I went across the street and immediately was able to buy the things I wanted. Take your business elsewhere.
June 22 · Alexander FloresGuy behind the counter attempted to scam me. Total was $5.50, gave a $10 then said I had the 50 cents. Gives me a $5 back but he saw I had singles in my had and said oh “wait he gave me one extra” so something. Was caught off guard and just gave him the $1 I had in my hand. Stepped away, thought about what just happened, and told him it was wrong. He the proceeds to give me back my two quarters. I just stared at him and then gave back the dollar.
February 18 · Ernesto ChavezThe spanish guy always has an attitude when you order sandwiches like it's not his job...eggs were way overcooked. Just bad store overall.
July 12 · MelHorrible customer service i called to ask for the price of a sandwich and the guy said come over to the deli and find out then hung up in my face, and i’ve went to this spot several times and every time they have a different price for the same thing and pretty much over-price everything. There’s a new deli like 2 blocks away called New Sunset Deli, much better customer service the prices are good, consistent and most importantly the food tastes great, Don’t waste your time at this joke of a Deli.
January 03 · Omar EGreat food and nothing but good vibes from the staff the times I've been in.
