What is Worth Choosing
For a definitive BADABOOM experience, a New Yorker should focus on the dishes that have earned the highest praise and perfectly capture the spirit of this modern French bistro.
The absolute top choice is the Roasted Chicken (available as a whole or half portion). It is unanimously celebrated for its tenderness and juicy flavor, often with the crispy skin being a highlight. A key part of this experience is the accompanying Roasted Potatoes, which soak up the rich, savory drippings from the chicken, turning the humble side into a flavorful indulgence. Customers suggest ordering a half chicken for two diners, as the whole bird is quite substantial.
Next, the Steak Frites is an essential order. The steak is noted for being tender, but the true star of this pairing is the French Fries, which are praised for their perfect crispness and flavor. Combining this classic main dish with the exceptional quality of their fries is a must for any first-time visitor.
In terms of sides, the Ratatouille and the Aspargus Sauce Gribiche are highly recommended for providing refined, fresh counterpoints to the rich main courses. The Roasted Carrots are also a fan favorite, described as lovely and well-executed.
Finally, elevate the entire meal by exploring the Natural Wine selection. The staff’s expertise ensures you’ll find a unique and well-paired glass or bottle, from classic reds and whites to intriguing orange wine, adding a contemporary twist to the traditional French dining experience. Concluding with the simple, yet satisfying Mousse Au Chocolat is the recommended way to end a fantastic dinner at this Brooklyn neighborhood gem.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Don’t sleep on this spot! The vibe is fantastic, with playful décor that makes it feel instantly welcoming. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive or kind, and the natural wine selection was on point. But the real star was the rotisserie chicken. Juicy, tender, and paired with a sauce that was absolutely mind-blowing. The roasted potatoes soaking up all those flavors underneath were just perfection. We also tried the roasted carrots, which were lovely, and now we’re already planning our return trip, this time for the steak frites and half a chicken (since we ordered the whole chicken an was definitely two much for 2)
September 15 · Ana Carolina DiazBeen looking forward to trying BADABOOM and they didn’t disappoint. We got the half roasted chicken and two steak frites to share between 3. The chicken was juicy and cooked well but personally wanted a touch more salt. The steak was tender and the fries were perfection. The haricot verts and roasted carrots were good side pieces. The vibes of the place were chill and welcoming. We sat at a table but I can always appreciate an open kitchen with counter seating space. The service is 100 and made our experience that much better 🤌.Great place for dinner with friends, conversations flow and so does the wine.
August 23 · Hannah KimThe beautiful thing about life is you can learn something everyday. I, for example, never would have thought orange wine and rotisserie chicken would pair so well together until I came to Badaboom.I made the push to Bed Stuy to meet Ryan from the Supervinobros on Instagram, as we bonded online over our respective niches of rotisserie chicken and wine. What a crazy sentence to type.We clicked right away, and began chopping it up about what a crazy place the internet is. As we were having a bro-down and becoming real life friends as opposed to just internet friends, my heart sank as I scanned the menu and saw the prices. A half roasted chicken with potatoes was $32, and a whole one was $58. $58 for a whole bird!?!?!?!! That’s the most expensive one I’ve ever seen.I immediately turned to him and whispered, “Bro I hate to be this guy and I know this is your spot, but $58 for a chicken is CRAZY. I don’t have to make a video because if I do I have to mention the price…” He said “Nah do it, at the end of the day they price it like this, so they have to be comfortable with people knowing.” Respect.Once my heart stopped racing, we took a look at the rest of the menu and the wine list. The wine list was his realm, and he began selling me on this orange wine that would pair well with the chicken. In the most confident tone he began describing the wine: “It’s from this north eastern Italian region that borders Slovenia that is one of the cradles of the natural wine movement and they ferment the grapes this certain way because” yadda yadda yadda. I tried to keep up, but it was a different language to me. It was like Neil deGrasse Tyson explaining astrophysics to a 5th grader. After he finished his dissertation, I said “Yup that sounds great!” We settled on a whole chicken w/ potatoes ($58), roasted carrots ($14), and Asparagus ($16).Once I got past the sticker shock, this chicken was pretty damn good. Oddly enough, in my quest to find the best chicken in New York City I haven’t hit many French restaurants, which is ironic because France is the birthplace of the Tissi. This chicken was absolutely delectable. It was a light, herb-based seasoning with a subtle buttery flavor. It was cooked perfectly, with even the breast being extremely tender. I’ve found a tender breast harder to find than one of the Legendary Pokemon. The wine paired so well with it too. I can’t say it was worth $58, but there is no bird on the planet I’d pay that for.The potatoes were also phenomenal, as they sit under the chicken in the rotisserie oven and collect all the juices falling off.All in all, I’m thankful for this experience. We need to add this duo to the greats: Shrek and Donkey, Kobe and Shaq, Danson and Highsmith, and orange wine and rotisserie chicken.IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__
August 04 · Johnny NovoI was really excited to see a new restaurant open up around the corner from me, but unfortunately I left disappointed.I went with a friend on a Friday night and it was packed, but thankfully we were seated pretty quickly. Still, it took about 10–15 minutes before a server came over to greet us. For sides, we ordered the asparagus and roasted carrots. Neither of us cared for the asparagus, and the carrots were especially underwhelming. From the photos online I expected long, beautifully roasted carrots with thoughtful plating, but instead we got a mix of oddly cut carrots thrown on a plate that were barely roasted and lacked flavor. For our main, we shared the rotisserie chicken with potatoes. The chicken skin was nicely seasoned, but the potatoes were bland, even when soaked with the gravy. Honestly, the highlight of the night was the wine! we shared a bottle of orange wine that was excellent. It almost made me think this place would work better as a wine bar with small bites than a full-on restaurant.Overall, the food felt overpriced, especially for the neighborhood (clearly they’re on the wrong side of Bedstuy) and the food was under-seasoned across the board. I hate when I leave a spot feeling like I could have cooked a better meal at home. I won’t be going back but yall enjoy.
September 24 · LaMicah Hughbanks5 stars! Great vibe, neat and clean decor. Amazing selection of natural wine. The menu is straightforward but delicious. Highly recommend the chicken, asparagus, and ratatouille. A gem for the neighborhood!
