★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I came here to celebrate Peruvian Independence Day with some friends. I've been here once before. The place was pretty empty, so despite having a reservation we were seated right away. There was a speaker playing the loudest music imaginable facing directly at us. If you're picturing how loud it was, multiply it by 100. We couldn't speak to each other without screaming, and even then could not hold a conversation. Finally half way through our meal, we asked our waiter if he could turn the speaker away from us and he kindly did. But it's insane he didn't offer to do that out of the gate when he could barely hear us when taking our orders. This was especially confusing considering the restaurant was nearly empty so there was no reason for the music to be like that. When the speaker was turned in another direction, the difference was literally night and day. They offer several Peruvian beers which is awesome. We got a bucket of Cusqueña for $30. The food has small portions, in my opinion. $31 for a small plate of Lomo Saltado and a small side of rice doesn't really hit the mark for me. My friend also ordered the Yuca, which was listed under mains on their menu. It was clearly an appetizer. Paying $15 for 6 Yuca fries is overpriced in my opinion. Everyone else ordered the chicken and felt it was good for very salty.I hate to say it, but both times I've eaten here the food and service has left a lot to be desired. I think there are far better options in the city where you're likely to get more bang for your buck. I would return to enjoy some beers as the pricing for a bucket was awesome and the Peruvian beer was delicious. But I would not return for food.
July 30 · Alyssa CoiroI was bike riding today and on my way back home I run into this restaurant.I tried the Pisco, it was GOOD!Service was great.Food, chef needs to work more on the execution of his dishes. Although, the Rocoto was fresh and spicy delicious!I work in the restaurant industry as well; and there is something that I learnt that is if you want to succeed in the restaurant business, you have be there 24/7 especially if you are a new restaurant 👌
July 27 · New YorkWhile I’m pulling for this restaurant I was disappointed in my meal and the service was spotty. We ordered some empanadas which were just ok. We ordered a cubano that was void of anything other than an over toasted roll with something inside.
March 29 · Al .MartinoThe place is way better than people play it out to be. Our waiter was absolutely cheery and welcoming. The food was 10/10, no joke and the portions were quite big as well. We came here for my sisters birthday and we all got free shots.
June 28 · Pamela RiveraService was good, however unfortunately very unsanitary, chef was very rude, had his dogs in the kitchen and came outside to scream at us when we complained. We also killed a roach but I guess its nyc what do you expect. The owner was nice and the waiter as well but still. I would not recommend this place.
