What is Worth Choosing: The Culinary Standouts
While the entire menu at Bebe Fritay is a celebration of Haitian gastronomy, a few items stand out as essential choices, particularly if you are a first-time visitor. The key to the restaurant's identity is the Fritay section.
The undisputed star and a foundational Haitian dish is Griot (Fried Pork). This is highly recommended—juicy, marinated pork chunks fried until golden brown. For an equally authentic and savory experience, try the Tassot Cabrit (Fried Goat) or Tassot Boeuf (Fried Beef). All these fried options are traditionally served alongside fried plantains and the signature, spicy pikliz (Hot Mixed Sauce), which provides a crucial and refreshing counterpoint to the rich, fried meat.
Beyond the excellent fried fare, you cannot overlook the complex and comforting full Haitian meals. A must-try specialty is Riz Djondjon (Black Rice), a distinctly Haitian dish where the rice is cooked with dried black mushrooms, giving it a unique, earthy flavor and dark hue. Another celebrated option is Legume (Mixed Vegetables), a hearty stew typically made with a blend of vegetables and often served over rice.
For a quick and satisfying snack, indulge in a Pate Kode - Poule Ze (Fried Pastry Chicken Egg) or Pate Kode - Aranso Ze (Fried Pastry Herring Egg). These savory, fried turnovers are perfect for a quick bite.
Finally, to complement your meal, be sure to sample one of their freshly made juices, such as the refreshing Jus Grenadia (Passion Fruit Juice) or the creamy Jus Manioc (Yuca Juice).

September 13 · Jude JhonsReally I got to stop eating from places like these 1 they giving less food higher prices 2 I hate when restaurants have non English understanding people at the register 3 this broad gave me mad fat like come on . I got to start cooking more
June 02 · Lane J.I wanted to try Haitian food so my friend took me here. I tried the fritay which is basically a mix of fried Haitian foods. Its very similar to other Caribbean foods. My favorite thing was the pikliz it was the perfect topping. It has a vinegar taste to it but its spicy. I loved the pickly and spicy taste it added. The meats were really good I had the griot pork and sausage. There’s also onions in there to add to the flavor. There were fried plantains in there. I had the cola drink too. Service was good. This is a small shop but I love how they represent Haiti with the decor. Overall, this was really good dish. It definitely filled me up. I love the mix of savory, spicy, and pickly flavors.
December 30 · Jeffrey GomezI love my Haitian good food and NO I'm not being bias since I am Haitian by the way 🇭🇹,I would say 1 of the best in Brooklyn, yes i said it one of the best they have everything you want in a modern-day medium range restaurant, right there on location right on the corner of church Ave, yup the 🚌 stops are not that far from there, for my fellow new Yorkers who don't drive, I like how they have a sitting area, it's a nice bar setting area with some bar stools over looking the street corner,so if you like to people watch while you stuff those delicious Haitian sensation spices down your mouth lol.The food was fast 🏃♀️ 😋 and plentiful do you see how big my plate was that was just 15 dallers deff worth it, they make me proude.
May 16 · DjOyeah TvI stopped in here this morning after 3 other Haitian restaurants did not have spaghetti. I'm so glad they had it here, I ordered a large & ate some in the store. It is sooo good and has some spice to it. I'm eating the rest today & tomorrow lol.
