BeiBei PlayHouse (FutureMinds Center) Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Located in the heart of Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood, BeiBei PlayHouse, also known as the FutureMinds Center, is a local facility that offers a blend of educational and recreational activities designed for children. Primarily catering to kids aged 6 to 16, the center focuses on structured learning with a curriculum emphasizing modern tech skills and artistic expression. It presents itself as a niche spot for Brooklyn families seeking enrichment programs in a compact, accessible location.
The facility distinguishes itself from traditional playgrounds by prioritizing educational classes, such as coding and jazz dance, over extensive free-play structures like slides or climbing walls. The center is open seven days a week, from 10 AM to 8 PM, making it a flexible option for after-school or weekend activities. The dual focus on technology—specifically Scratch, Python, Java, and C++ coding—and dynamic Jazz Dance lessons aims to build confidence, coordination, and essential computational thinking skills in young participants.
It is important for local New York users to note that the experience at BeiBei PlayHouse has generated contrasting feedback. One customer described the space as "Very nice" and "clean," noting it was a lot of fun for kids, especially toddlers, suggesting a positive experience with the environment and activities. However, a highly critical review raised significant concerns regarding the facility's upkeep, cleanliness, and transparency in pricing. This customer reported a discrepancy between the online and quoted in-person price, and detailed a deeply negative experience with broken toys and unsanitary restrooms. Potential visitors are advised to contact the center directly to confirm current pricing, facilities, and cleanliness standards before visiting, acknowledging that user experiences vary widely.

What is Worth Choosing
For New York parents in Sunset Park, the BeiBei PlayHouse (FutureMinds Center) is worth considering primarily for its focused educational programs in technology and arts. If you are specifically looking for high-quality, structured learning for a child aged 6 and up, the Kids' Coding Classes offer a tangible, skill-building experience that is competitively priced for group sessions at $45 per hour. The availability of instruction in both beginner-friendly Scratch and more advanced languages like Python is a significant draw for developing long-term computational thinking.
The combination of academic and physical activities (coding, art, and jazz dance) under one roof also provides a streamlined approach to enrichment, saving parents the time and effort of commuting to multiple locations across the borough. For those with children interested in dance or a creative outlet, the Jazz Dance and Art classes offer a lively and engaging counterbalance to screen time.
However, local users must exercise caution and verify current operational standards before committing. Due to the very serious customer review detailing broken toys and unsanitary conditions, it is absolutely essential to call ahead (Phone: (347) 293-9403) to ask specific questions about the present state of the facility and to confirm the exact pricing for any desired activity. If the center can demonstrate that the negative issues regarding cleanliness and facility maintenance have been recently addressed, it remains a valuable local resource for specialized children’s programming in the Sunset Park community.

BeiBei PlayHouse (FutureMinds Center) Reviews
Worst playspace I’ve ever stepped foot into. Online, the price was listed at $15, but the staff member told me it was now $20 and I should pay by Venmo. Then I discovered how bad everything was kept. Majority of toys broken, including the merry-go-round. There was dirt everywhere and it just looked like it had never been cleaned or properly organised.Shortly after, my daughter needed the potty and I was horrified with how the restrooms were kept.ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! DO NOT VISIT!
January 06 · Christina at Play in NYCVery nice place. Lot of fun for kids, especially toddlers. New and clean!
September 05 · Dda ddatagaCame here twice before. The first time the experience was overall positive. They have a lot to do in the play space and it is very spacious. The second time we went we noticed that the spinning ride they had was broken, the balls in the pit were flat and some of the toys were missing parts. The padding on the floor was rising up and not completely flat. My toddler tripped over that a few times. Still, we overlooked all of that and decided to visit for the third time today. Google says they were open at 10am but we still wanted to make sure so I called and a lady answered the call. At first she said 12pm is when they have open play. I asked is it okay that I come now (10am) and she said yes. We went with my toddler on a brisk morning and we found out that they were NOT open. Very disappointed with the management of this place and we will not be returning.
January 10 · Wendy HI booked the venue out for a private birthday party for my daughter, after attending one the prior year when the space was new and I have to say I was pretty disappointed in the maintenance of this play space. While my daughter had a great time which was the most important, there were several issues—1. During our private party, a group was allowed to come into the space to tour in the middle of our party, without giving me, as a host even a courtesy heads up.2. When I arrived to set up for the birthday party, the space was not tidy and clearly was not prepped for a party. The toys were totally disorganized and thrown into one area, and I had to ask the person running the place if they had a vacuum bc there were hairballs all over the carpet in the party area. She ended up vacuuming but it would have been nice to have to deal with this to begin with.3. The bathroom situation was really bad. I asked if they could have the facilities come and tidy up the bathroom for my guests bc it was an embarrassing situation but was told they will be putting a lock on the bathroom which honestly I don’t care what your solution is but it address the problem for my party. My kids are asking for another party here but it will be a hard no. Very sad because there is so much potential, and I would have loved to support more Asian businesses. But this was really not something I would ever want to do again.
January 27 · Amy ShihIt was good before, we went a few time, price was cheaper and the place is clean. Now the price increased to $20 but nothing improved, place looks never cleaned and the few adults here are playing poker card. This will be my last time visiting.
