Try it.The crownie was different. The texture is new, more like a brioche than a croissant, and the taste keeps growing while eating. Interesting.It looks like all the money went on the production R&D and what was left was well spent in the decor. Good job here.Any downsides? Pricing is high, but sizing and quality are there, so it seems fair in the current environment.One couch and one communal table. No outside seating on my visit. Could do better.Not sure why the standard croissants and baguettes are left behind the counter.
May 31 · Alessandro FratiDid I overpurchase? Perhaps! Would I do it again? Absolutely. Their pastries looked phenomenal fabulous but I was here for bread alone. I only needed a loaf but I saw the fig walnut and the herb gruyere and somehow convinced myself it was reasonable to by both. I have no regrets however. I knew they were perfect the second they handed them over, they were still warm, they smelled insane, there was big beautiful chunks of fig and cheese poking through the crust. They made the subway smell fantastic somehow, they made my dorm smell fantastic, and they made my toasts and sandwiches fantastic because of course they tasted amazing. I forgot to take pictures of the inside but there was a great distribution of the add ins, and the texture of the bread wasn't weighed down at all, light, spongy, no big air pockets (I hate that, because then when you try to slice it you get a hole in your toast). I have no notes. I have no doubt their pastries are of equal quality, and I can't wait to be proved right about that and to try their other breads. Bless this city and its magical bread makers. Truly they are carrying me through these times

Pick a black sesame and osmanthus roll to fix a sweet tooth or a basil pesto pine nut egg cup for a savory craving.The filling (pork, shiitake mushrooms and scallions) in the pig in a blanket was quite generous - I only wish the dough a bit more flaky:)

And I had to come twice just for this pastry: BLACK SESAME & OSMANTHUS ROLL.Eater has recently recognized Breadivore as the next-hype bakery. Located on a quiet street in Park Slope, it is very low-profile compared to other viral bakeries in Brooklyn, but their bread and pastries are definitely top notch.The space gives cozy vibes with some comfy seatings and long display shelves. They sell mostly French artisan bread and pastries, but some with an Asian influence.*Black Sesame & Sweet Osmanthus Roll $6.25Inspired by black sesame tangyuan, the owner blends flavors she’d grown up with into European baking. It was nutty, slightly savory from the black sesame and floral from the osmanthus syrup. I really liked the flakiness and subtle sweetness.They only do one batch every day. It was sold out when I arrived at 10:30 on a Sunday, so I tried my luck again on a Friday morning. So worth it!*Cinnamon and Cardamom Bun $6.25The bun was still warm when I got it, spiced with cardamom and cinnamon. It was shaped into elegant knot of laminated dough. The laminated layers made it special, with a glazed top sprinkled with Swedish pearl sugar, and a soft, fluffy center.From this day onward, a regular cardamom/cinnamon bun could never satisfy me anymore.

I take all of my out of town guests here and they love it so much that I’ve even brought some back to them when I go visit them out of state.Everything is good, no really, but my faves are the Cardamom Cinnamon Bun, Aged Cheddar Roll, and the Kouign Amman!!Honorable mentions include: Crownie (croissant brownie), Mustard Pretzel, and the Ham & Cheese Croissant (my partner’s personal fave).
