★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place is delightful! An employee recommended the peach refresher with coconut water and it was terrific. I enjoyed seeing so many drinks that reminded me of what one might buy from cafes in Japan, and perhaps elsewhere in East Asia. The shop has a very clean and pared-back appearance but also manages to be welcoming and comfortable. Moreover, I really enjoyed the quirky posters on the wall. I am. Or sure if they are original or not, but they were both absurd and very funny at the same time.
August 08 · J WBunny&Bro is reopening near Bryant Park in Midtown, with a larger and more spacious location. They’re best known for their creative einspänners, but the menu also features other Asian-inspired specialty drinks like ube coffee, coconut latte, and strawberry matcha.I’ve tried all of their einspänners at both the old and new locations, and the original coffee einspänner is still my favorite.*Black Sesame Einspänner $8.35I couldn’t stop but kept scooping up the whipped cream with black sesame drizzle. I added espresso to mine for some caffeine, but honestly I’d prefer it without. I thought the pure black sesame flavor would be nuttier and bolder on its own.*Matcha Einspänner $8.55Made with ceremonial grade matcha, this one had a richer flavor. I loved how it paired with oat milk—smooth, earthy, and just the right amount of creamy. The sweet whipped cream was simply addictive.
April 28 · Ruby ChanWhile I appreciate the concept & the unique flavour options, it was not well executed for me. The Ube latte was plainly way too sweet, artificial and not a mesh with the coffee; and if it had any espresso, I didn’t taste it! Even the iced temperature was all wrong - it was Luke warm.I was originally going to go for the coconut latte, but when the barista said it was made from powder, I opted out. Then I went for Ube, which, to my surprise, was also made from powder. The size was small, latte was expensive and I didn’t even finish it.Great branding, tons of seating, but that’s about it for the positives I experienced
April 27 · Isabella GrandicThe drinks here were excellent! Miguel was super helpful with recommendations—I ended up with the Bro Matcha Einspanner, and it did not disappoint. The homemade cream on top was rich and delicious. I ordered it iced and in a large size, which turned out to be more than enough; a medium would have been perfect. My friend went for the unsweetened hojicha, which was spot on. The tea flavor really shone through, exactly what she was hoping for.The space itself is very minimalist—stark white with high ceilings. While it’s definitely clean and airy, it doesn’t quite have that cozy or warm vibe some cafés go for. That’s more a matter of taste, though, and it didn’t take away from the overall experience.
August 21 · Peter Huu Tran (PHT)Pretty busy since late morning, very clean aesthetics and good beverages! We've got Yuzu Americano and Americano (both iced), and they were actually pretty good. My favourite part was probably the artwork on the walls (so witty!). With the selection of drinks and 'cool vibe', it seems Korean-inspired to me (and not mad about it at all). Limited selection of baking goods, but a very unique selection of drinks balances it out. Would definitely recommend if you're in the Grand Central Terminal area!
