★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1ADORABLE little cafe. Like a step back in time with the antique cafe tables for two, the classical music that plays quietly in the background, and the bright grass green pain on the exterior of the cafe and seen throughout the interior. The cappuccino is PERFECT. Takes a couple of seconds on your first sip, for the coffee to flow through the froth. Serving amazing cappuccinos since 1927.
July 04 · Angela Cooperman-GalperCaffe RggioThe first caffe in the United States to serve Cappuccino. Since 1927, behind every great legacy is a steward, and today’s Caffe Reggio owes much to its current owner, Fabrizio Cavallacci.I have been told I must visit Caffe Rggio in Greenwich Village, near by iconic Washington Square Park. First impression step inside Caffe Rggio, feel like lost in time or place somewhere in an old country. I found myself a spot and ordered a cappuccino, which is an amazing flavor, strong, and creamy, cappuccino standard traditional cup. The entire decor was kept maintained, and I found myself admiring the element of the old country atmosphere. I was very surprised when I received my bill; it was much less than Starbucks. This is a service is a polite and gracious attitude; even the place has outdoor seating.
August 31 · Warrent SattunyueI visited Caffe Reggio today and had a so-so experience. The ambiance and atmosphere were spot on; it’s a historical place with a fascinating 98-year-old story. However, that’s where the positives end. The cappuccinos tasted burned, and the foam was disappointing. The italian cheesecake felt dry and stale, and the chocolate mousse was in the same boat. The service was okay. While it’s worth visiting once for the history, I don’t think I’ll be returning.
April 29 · DejanAlmost a century old cafe serving American's "Original Cappuccino" with a machine that's even older. A cozy space with bit crammed seating. Delicious Italian cheesecake, tiramasu, canollis, pies and other pastries. Often stop by for dessert after a meal elsewhere on the street.
August 03 · Jia SunCafe Reggio is one of those rare places in New York where you feel like time has stopped. Nestled on MacDougal Street, it’s not just a café — it’s a piece of history. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by vintage paintings, old-world furniture, and a warm, timeless atmosphere that instantly makes you slow down and breathe.Their espresso is rich and bold, just how it should be, and the cappuccino is perfectly balanced with smooth foam and deep flavor. It’s the kind of coffee that reminds you why you fell in love with coffee in the first place. The staff is kind and low-key, which adds to the charm — no rush, no pressure, just genuine hospitality.Whether you’re sitting inside soaking in the ambiance or people-watching at one of the outdoor tables, Cafe Reggio offers a rare and beautiful slice of calm in the middle of the city. A must-visit if you’re into authentic cafés with soul.
