What is worth choosing
Choosing Cartaz Caribbean Cuisine is choosing a slice of authentic island flavor in the heart of Brooklyn. What truly makes this restaurant worth visiting is the masterful execution of Caribbean classics, which consistently earn high praise from New York’s discerning diners. The Oxtail is a must-try, celebrated for its tenderness and rich, savory gravy that perfectly coats the rice and peas. Similarly, the Jerk Chicken is a favorite, known for its balanced spice and juicy quality, avoiding the dryness often found in poorly prepared jerk dishes. For an authentic cultural experience, starting your day with one of their traditional Jamaican breakfasts, like the Ackee and Saltfish paired with perfectly fried dumplings, is an unparalleled culinary delight. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1As a frequent customer, the quality of the beef patties has gone DOWN the past 6 months!!!From being well burnt to my LAST STRAW of having a piece of plastic string in my beef patty🤮🤢 worst fear unlocked, as I already ate piece the enclosed pastryAs a fellow Jamaican, I love to support small business and my people BUT the lack of concern/care from the male manager and NOT GETTING A FULL REFUND (didn’t even bother to eat the rest of the food) - is insane.I can deal with attitudes and under qualified management BUT I can’t stand for poor food quality, especially at that price point & w/ Jamaican reputation attached! Things MUST change. But weh di string come from doh?!?!? Garbage bag string? Investigation fi gwan. Jesus like we don’t have enough plastics in our food.
August 16 · Belle R.Cartaz serves some of the best Jamaican breakfasts around. The ackee and saltfish is always on point, and the fried dumplings are perfectly made—one of my favorites! Their stew fish is also really good, especially when paired with ackee and saltfish or callaloo and saltfish. Be sure to get there before 9 a.m., as they sell out quickly! I personally like mine mixed with ackee, saltfish, and callaloo. Thank you Chrissy
July 15 · Geneva CollinsOrdered festival, curry chicken meal and a jerk chicken meal. Was told you were sold out of festival, cool. Got my order and it’s one meal of oxtails… it’s crazy how these restaurants have no problem taking our money but the quality control and attention to details are trash. Don’t worry I won’t be ordering again.
August 09 · United States Of smashThe food is absolutely amazing. I order once a week over the summer and I get the best service. The food is extremely tasty and everyone is so helpful. The oxtail Rasta pasta is absolutely delicious.I would highly recommend this place.
July 25 · Paola EliacinJerk chicken was evenly cooked throughout nice and juicy inside and no burnt parts in the outside with the right amount of spice. One of the best I have tried!
