What is Worth Choosing: Focusing on the Best of the Menu
When navigating the vast menu at Chinese Fried Chicken, local users should prioritize the dishes that receive the highest praise and reflect the restaurant's specialties. While variety is a strength, a few items stand out as particularly worth ordering for a first-time or returning customer seeking the best value and flavor.
The Must-Try Dishes:
- The Sesame Chicken: Based on the rave review from local office personnel, this dish is a recommended choice. Its promised authentic "chicken texture & moistness" suggests a commitment to quality that elevates it above the usual takeout version. This is the meal to choose when you want a classic dish done right.
- General Tso's Chicken or Orange Chicken: As two of the most popular items listed, these sweet and savory options are staples of Chinese-American cuisine. Their inclusion on the featured menu suggests they are consistently prepared to a high standard, offering the deep-fried, sauced comfort food experience the Bronx loves.
- Jumbo Shrimp with Lobster Sauce: This is a beloved and traditional Cantonese-American dish. Its strong presence on the shrimp list indicates a confidence in their seafood and sauce preparation, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a richer, more complex flavor profile.
- The Full Vegetarian Selection: Given the multiple options for Sauteed Broccoli, Mixed Vegetables, and dishes featuring bean curd, this establishment is a strong option for those seeking plant-based or lighter meals compared to other local spots with less extensive vegetarian choices.
It is worth noting the feedback regarding the appetizers, specifically the observation that the spring rolls can be "too dry in the inside." New customers may choose to stick with the main entrees and focus on the celebrated chicken dishes to ensure the most satisfying experience. Chinese Fried Chicken offers the essential New York Chinese takeout experience—fast, filling, and focused on the comfort food that defines neighborhood dining in the Bronx.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1As a Office Personnel that consistently searches for places to eat due to being far from most places, I can say the “Sesame chicken” is really good. It has a actual chicken texture & moistness to it.P.s. The spring rolls are nasty because it’s too dry in the inside. (0 Stars)
October 23 · skater pups15Not the best but good enough. The rice usually have to say add more pork cause there isn't enough n they charge me. Chicken wings don't be as fresh as I wish.
May 08 · Dania SilverioI've been ordering from this spot since it opened in the mid 90s. The food was always good, despite the facts so many owners/workers been there. Post covid hasn't been looking for them. Hopefully the spot gets more cooks and deliver men.
July 01 · Anthony WindsJust stopping in town briefly, delivering as a truck driver. The man taking orders on the phone was difficult to understand and unfortunately instead of speaking more clearly he just yelled louder. He did not provide a total or a time to expect the order and abruptly hung up the phone before I could ask. However, the food was delivered within 15 mins, was piping hot and pretty good. I ordered beef and broccoli, shrimp and broccoli and a scallion pancake. Scallion pancake was a little burned and greasy but had good flavor. Reviews regarding customer service and haggling for tips for delivery service are correct in my experience but the food was good and I would eat here again. Ate the food before I remembered to take a pic, sorry
January 23 · Kayla MajorThe place has been in the same spot for decades, so there is something to be said about consistency. Their delivery service has much to be desired. The attitude and sheer greed of the delivery guys is astounding. They have been known to keep your change without permission, they refuse to go to your door, you have to go down to meet them at the front door, and they rush you to pick it up, if you take more than 30 seconds, they'll leave, and still expect a heavy tip for just coming across the street! They are never happy with what they get as a tip, like they are expecting to hit the lotto on a delivery. If you call them on their game and take your exact change the walk away like some sad Animae character, "Oh, no tip..."You want a tip? I've got a few. 1. Actually do your job and deliver to the apartment door, that's what 'delivery' means. 2. Don't ask for a tip, and sure as hell don't assume you can keep the change. Your service is craptastically horrendous and you should be giving us a discount because of it- a free soda and an apology.Otherwise, the food is really good, and there is no hassle calling your order in and picking it up yourself, until recently that their kitchen has no gas, so you have no choice but to deal with them.
