★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We’d always wanted to try CloseUp Jazz, and it didn’t disappoint. When it first opened, we dropped in for some snacks and drinks, just a casual visit. But last week, we finally made it to one of their Saturday night gigs, and it was genuinely such a great time. The band started at 8 p.m., and while it wasn’t classic jazz, their sound was fresh, creative, and full of good energy, reminds me old time of Chat Baker vibes. The vibe was just right, warm, intimate, and effortlessly cool.We sat in the back row, but the room’s cozy and dimly lit setting made it feel personal and romantic no matter where you were. There’s a small bar in the corner, and while the drinks aren’t over the top, they’re solid. The snacks are decent too, nothing fancy, but tasty enough to keep us happy. All in all, CloseUp Jazz has that rare kind of charm you don’t come by often. We’ll definitely be coming back
July 28 · Zoegood vibes, great place for jazz and drinks! there’s an intimate room in the back for jazz that’s dimly lit and has great vibes - so go earlier if you have tickets! the front has some fun drinks and a space to lounge/chat. there’s also food but I’ve never tried it - it’s prob pretty good!
June 26 · Savanna LimWhat a lovely space for jazz. The spot is cozy, which makes the performances pleasantly more intimate than you would expect. Seating is pretty much first-come first-served, so if you want seats with a table, I'd recommend arriving 30 mins earlier. The food is pretty good too, loved the empanadas, especially the beef one.
May 25 · Khoi PhamGreat vibes at this new jazz club in the LES with exceptional musicians and atmosphere! We visited on a Wednesday evening and really enjoyed the show and the jam session!
July 31 · Esther FialhoHad a good time here! Drinks were great, staff very friendly, atmosphere was amazing. However we were not as impressed with the live jazz set (band arrived 15+ min late, jazz style was a little too cacophonous for us and for some other people judging by the fact that some left the room before the show ended). Recommend the experience overall, but will be doing some research on the band next time.
