Apartment 5 Introduce
In the heart of the Lower East Side, where the nightlife scene is constantly buzzing, Apartment 5 offers a unique and intimate escape from the typical bar experience. As a cocktail bar, it sets itself apart by focusing on a more cozy and trendy atmosphere, designed to feel like a private gathering in a stylish urban apartment. This isn't your average loud and chaotic club; it's a place where the focus is on quality drinks, conversation, and a curated vibe. It’s a great spot for groups to meet up, share a few rounds of drinks, and enjoy the night in a more relaxed and sophisticated setting. The bar's aesthetic is clean and modern, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment that encourages you to settle in and enjoy the moment.
Apartment 5 is known for its "Great cocktails" and "Fast service," which are crucial highlights for any New York bar. While the atmosphere is relaxed, the service is efficient and professional, ensuring that you and your friends get your drinks quickly so you can focus on the company and the vibe. The bar is a popular choice for private events, which speaks to its versatility as a venue. The ability to rent out the space for a special occasion is a significant feature, and it's clear that the bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, a key factor in making any event a success. However, it's important to note that the experience may vary depending on the night. Some guests have noted that the music can be loud and the vibe more "clubby" on certain evenings, which can be a disconnect from the cozy, intimate feel that the bar is known for.
The culinary offerings at Apartment 5, though limited, are designed to complement the drink menu. They provide a range of "House Bites" that are more substantial than simple bar snacks. This focus on providing quality food, even if it's not a full dinner menu, adds to its appeal as a well-rounded spot for a night out. The food and drink program is a serious part of the overall experience, and the bar's staff is committed to providing a high-quality product. While some food experiences may have been less than perfect, the dedication to excellent drinks remains a consistent point of praise from patrons, making it a reliable destination for cocktail lovers in the Lower East Side.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Overall rating: 3.5Admittedly, I saw this place on Google maps after recommended & it looked very similar to Hi-Lots just in the lower east side. So naturally I just had high expectations for a place that had different intentions. I went on a Thursday night and it seems like it was just opening up from an event. My friend and I arrived at 9pm and the hosts looked very confused. They said they close at 10pm.. on a Thursday and we just wanted to sit at the bar. Also Google shows it closing at 12:30am, so not sure where the disconnect went. There was only 2 people there, so we were like okay we just want to get a nightcap anyway. The music was SO LOUD we couldn’t hear ourselves think. It was more of a clubby music scene which was weird because no one was there & “they were about to close”. The vibe in general was just way off. The drinks have clear descriptions so I was a bit surprised that when our drinks came out- they were both watered down with ice. But the descriptions of our drinks weren’t tiki themed. It was getting so loud at the bar, we just moved our drinks to a table to chat. Overall maybe this is more of a weekend activity, but likely won’t go again. Doesn’t seem worth it to me. And some of these high ratings are questionable.
April 13 · Olivia NBeautiful space, I went for a private event where the host rented out Apartment 5. The drinks are EXCELLENT. The bartenders were both so knowledgeable and friendly. The food was meh. I got the wings and they taste (and looked!) like reheated Kennedy Fried Chicken wings. Someone else got the rigatoni pasta and it was cold, like it was prepared and left out for 10-15 minutes. I would go back for drinks, but make sure you eat elsewhere. There are 2 bathrooms on the first floor, but the door to one of the bathrooms was broken/stuck so you had to have the strength of Hercules to push open the door. Most people assumed someone was in there, so there was a long for the other bathroom with a functional door.
June 25 · Ela MitchellI threw an art showcase here for some friends and have nothing but glowing reviews to report!Scheduling was easy. Lounge was spacious and comfortably fit our 30 person group. No venue rental fee or tab minimum on a Tuesday - which is truly the cherry on top!Brandon and Ashley were attentive and incredibly friendly and helpful.
April 09 · Gabrielle HamanThis new place is AWESOME! The drinks, the atmosphere, the staff and the overall vibe make it a must visit. It’s got multiple rooms each with fun themes and ample seating, making it a great place for good conversation over amazing cocktails. (The Holy Ghost and Garden Lady are my favorites 🍹)
September 08 · Divia Mekathe vibe is amazing. so intimate yet not loud, would be so good for a date oh man.holy ghost cocktail was so good, and so was the cabernet. food was decent. took off a star for service but other than that amazing experience
