Don Antonio Introduce
In a city overflowing with pizza options, Don Antonio stands out not just as a restaurant, but as a destination for authentic, world-class Neapolitan pizza. Located in the heart of the Theater District, this establishment brings the centuries-old tradition of Naples’ famous pizzerias to the streets of New York. It’s a place where every element, from the specially imported wood-fired oven to the finest Italian ingredients, is curated to deliver a pizza experience that is truly a cut above the rest. Don Antonio is co-owned by a family of celebrated pizzaiolos, with a legacy that includes mentorship from one of Naples' oldest and most revered pizzerias. This dedication to craft and history is immediately apparent in every bite, making it a must-visit for pizza connoisseurs and casual diners alike.
What sets Don Antonio apart is its commitment to both tradition and innovation. While the menu features classic Neapolitan pies with that perfect light, airy, and slightly charred crust, it also proudly introduces New York to the unique delights of pizza fritta, or fried pizza. This signature dish, a staple of Neapolitan street food, is a surprisingly light and crispy creation that has become a sensation among locals. The restaurant is a labor of love, a family-run business led by a world champion pizzaiola who carries on a rich heritage while also championing the "women in pizza" movement. This combination of top-tier quality, a cozy-yet-trendy atmosphere, and a genuine passion for the craft makes Don Antonio a standout in the city’s competitive dining scene.
Don Antonio is conveniently located at 309 W 50th St, New York, NY 10019, placing it perfectly for theatergoers and those exploring Midtown. Its location is ideal for a pre-show meal or a lively dinner with friends. The restaurant is easily accessible by public transportation, with numerous subway lines (including the C, E, 1, 9, N, Q, R, and W trains) just a short walk away. For those who are driving, there are several paid parking garages, lots, and paid street parking options nearby. The restaurant is committed to welcoming all guests and features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, restroom, and seating, ensuring a comfortable and inclusive dining experience for everyone.

With an extensive and creative menu, it can be difficult to decide what to order. However, there are a few items at Don Antonio that are simply unmissable. For a truly unique experience, you must try one of the Pizze Fritte, with the Montanara being the most famous and highly recommended by both critics and regulars. This fried pizza is a game-changer and a great way to experience a piece of Naples. For those who prefer a more traditional pie, the Margherita is a classic choice that showcases the high quality of their ingredients, including a savory tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella.
Beyond the basics, the menu offers a wide range of creative flavor combinations. The Pistacchio & Salsiccia pizza is a standout, blending a fresh pistachio pesto with savory sausage. Another unique and highly praised choice is the Sorrentina, a white pizza featuring smoked buffalo mozzarella and sliced lemons, which delivers an "unforgettable" bright and tangy flavor. For those who enjoy rich, savory options, the Macellaio (The Butcher) is a must-try, loaded with a variety of Italian meats. Don't forget to explore the appetizers, particularly the fried options like the Arancini and Frittatine, which are perfect for sharing. And for a sweet finish, the Angioletti Nutella or the Pizza Nutella is a delicious and memorable dessert that's big enough to share.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Don Antonio is a must-visit for pizza lovers! Every pie we tried was amazing—authentic Neapolitan with that perfect light and crispy crust. The lemon pizza was my favorite—bright, tangy, and unforgettable. It’s run by the daughter of the owner of Kesté (another great NYC pizzeria), so pizza mastery clearly runs in the family. A true family of expert pizzaioli.Friendly service, cozy vibe, and top-tier food. Can’t wait to go back!
July 25 · Paolo BaroneA really great pizzeria with plenty of flavor options that showcase the chef’s creativity. The portions are generous, making it perfect for groups to share several pizzas and enjoy a variety of tastes together.
September 14 · D GuoI like this place for the simplicity but delicious pizzas. Came here with a large group during the week and was able to get seated with a reservation made the day of. The pizzas came out quick once ordered and the staff were wonderful to work with. The margherita stood out the most to me - simple yet fresh and delicious. Would come back again if I’m looking for a meal nearby.
April 28 · Andrew DabydeenAmazing pizza. Great restaurant vibes but seating just okay. Service a bit pushy. Definitely worth going out of your way to visit.Walked by the place many times but finally decided to give it a go after seeing a show. We showed up 30 minutes before closing but they were happy to accommodate us. Pizza looked and was authentic. Not heavy. Absolutely delicious. “10 year anniversary” and “fall… in love” pizzas were just amazing. My girl really liked the wine menu. Overall top notch food experience.Staff were generally good but as it was near closing, they kept pushing us to order quickly and finish up. I get it but not so nice. Great atmosphere too but the wooden benches weren’t the best for a 4 person group. Would have given 4.5 stars for each if I could.Overall, totally worth going for the food.
August 24 · Graham AThe pizza had a great chew, though sometimes it turned into jaw exercise. I like string flavors, but the crust had a really strong flavor to a fault, because it overwhelmed the toppings. The Regina margherita could have more cheese to make up for that. The salad was pretty plain and not appealing at all.
