El Campeon De Los Pollos Introduce
Discovering a truly authentic local spot that offers both the comfort of traditional recipes and the convenience of modern delivery is a treasure for any New Yorker. In South Ozone Park, Queens, that treasure is often cited as El Campeon De Los Pollos. This established Dominican restaurant is celebrated throughout the neighborhood for bringing a vibrant, home-cooked slice of Latin American flavor to the busy streets of New York City.
El Campeon De Los Pollos, which translates to "The Champion of the Chickens," is more than just a clever name—it’s a promise of hearty, flavorful cuisine rooted in Dominican tradition. The establishment has built a loyal following among locals who crave classic dishes prepared with authentic seasoning and generous portions. The essence of this neighborhood gem lies in its commitment to providing meals that feel like they came straight from a family kitchen, making it a go-to choice for satisfying breakfast, a filling lunch break, or a comforting dinner at home.
In a bustling area like South Ozone Park, El Campeon De Los Pollos has cemented its reputation by offering essential comforts, particularly their praised rotisserie chicken (pollo asado), a centerpiece of Dominican cuisine. Beyond the signature poultry, the menu is a comprehensive exploration of Latin American favorites, from robust daily specials like Camarones Al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp) to foundational staples like mangu and various side dishes. For New Yorkers juggling busy schedules, the restaurant’s versatile service model—offering delivery, takeout, and dine-in options—makes it an exceptionally valuable local resource.
However, as with any high-volume local establishment, patrons considering a visit or ordering delivery should be aware of the varied experiences reported by customers. While many praise the flavor and large portion sizes, there have been public reviews raising serious concerns regarding food safety and internal inconsistencies with pricing, indicating that customers should remain vigilant and confirm prices when ordering. This duality is an important consideration for anyone planning to enjoy the offerings of this South Ozone Park fixture.

What is Worth Choosing
For New York residents looking for an authentic and satisfying meal delivery experience in Queens, El Campeon De Los Pollos holds a unique place. It is a local champion for providing genuine Dominican comfort food that tastes like a homemade meal, making it ideal for those nights when only a hearty, seasoned dish will do. The core reason to choose this spot centers on its reputation for authentic Latin flavor and its central role as a community eatery. The signature rotisserie chicken is a must-try, often praised for its deep flavor and succulence, though availability and quality can sometimes be inconsistent, according to some reports.
The convenience of having a full-service restaurant—catering to breakfast, lunch, and dinner crowds—that also offers delivery is a significant advantage in the NYC area. Furthermore, the accessibility features and acceptance of various payment methods, including modern NFC mobile payments, make the overall transaction seamless. However, an important caveat to note, as reported in customer feedback, is the potential for discrepancies between advertised menu prices and the actual price charged at the register. Customers are strongly advised to confirm the current pricing of their order directly with the restaurant at the time of purchase to ensure a transparent transaction.
Ultimately, El Campeon De Los Pollos remains a popular choice because it taps into a desire for culturally rich, flavorful, and generously portioned food. For those willing to navigate the reported issues of potential pricing variance and to inspect their food carefully (a caution raised by one serious review concerning food safety and quality), this Dominican spot offers a true taste of the Caribbean right in South Ozone Park.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I found a WORM in my oxtail. Absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable. I ordered oxtail with rice and beans, and while eating, I discovered a worm in the food. This wasn’t a bone, tendon, or seasoning—it was clearly a worm, and I have photos to prove it.This raises serious concerns about the cleanliness, food handling, and overall safety of this establishment. I stopped eating immediately and saved the food.To anyone thinking of ordering from here: please be extremely cautious. Check your food thoroughly before eating. Just because something looks cooked doesn’t mean it’s safe.I’m writing this review not out of anger, but to help protect others — especially families with kids, pregnant women, or anyone vulnerable. No one expects to find a worm in their food, but it happened to me, and it could happen to someone else.
July 09 · kimberly NatalThey have their own prices made up, their menu prices advertised is not their actual price. They have several menus in the restaurant including the one right above the cash register but charges you more and when I pointed out to the kid working there, he said they can’t control inflation and he can’t do anything about the prices. There was no manager on duty to assist so I’d have to come back when the manager is on shift. Ask the price before purchasing
May 02 · Bhoj AdinAbsolutely amazing! The home fries, scrambled eggs, and bacon were perfect. They packed it with about 8 strips of fresh, crispy bacon—opened it up and thought, 'My man!' Everything was delicious and generously portioned. I live in The Bronx, but I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area. Highly recommend!
December 05 · Marvis RamirezEverything is incredibly expensive. Any simple dish costs between $20 and $30; it's too much, and sometimes the food isn't very good. I like the restaurant. I've been ordering here for a while, but I can't stand the prices anymore. I've been to other Dominican restaurants, and they're not as expensive as here. They're way over the top with the prices. I don't recommend it.
August 04 · Kelvyn G.Awonderful food. Amazing service coming with it. Everyone there are so very patient and kind with their customers. The food is like stuff i’ve never tasted before.
August 13 · ClaireMy partner went here n he didn’t like their customer service. Said the Man was very rude l, barely acknowledged him. The woman was nice n hospital. He got beef stew and rice. The food was bland. I ate some with him. Right off the back we did not enjoy it.
