What is worth choosing
Choosing a meal at Flava is an opportunity to indulge in some of the most famous and satisfying dishes in Jamaican cuisine. The menu highlights several must-try options that frequently receive positive attention from local food lovers.
The undisputed stars of the menu are the classic main entrees. Many patrons flock to Flava for the signature Jerk Chicken, which is lauded by some as the 'Best Jerk chicken' they have had, noting the exceptional flavor and generous portions. The Oxtail is another hugely popular choice, available both as a main dish and in a convenient Oxtail Bundle. These dishes represent the core of Jamaican comfort food—meats slow-cooked to tender perfection in rich, savory sauces. For those who enjoy a spicier, more exotic flavor profile, the Curry Goat is a robust and flavorful option.
For a hearty start to the day, the Ackee & Saltfish breakfast dish is a classic Jamaican national plate and is a popular choice for morning dining. It is a fundamental part of the 'local specialty' and should be on the list for anyone looking for an authentic breakfast experience.
Don't overlook the sides, which perfectly complement the main dishes. Rice & Peas is a traditional pairing with most entrees and is often praised. For a flavorful twist on a standard side, try the Rasta Pasta, a creamy, Caribbean-inspired pasta dish.
Finally, to complete the authentic Jamaican experience, a homemade drink is a necessity. Beverages like the invigorating Ginger Beer, the creamy Peanut Punch, or the traditional Sorrel offer refreshing and exotic flavors that can’t be found at a standard beverage counter. These homemade drinks, along with the Tru-Juice Soursop, are unique highlights that enhance the overall dining experience.
While some customer feedback indicates occasional issues with order accuracy or portion sizes, the overwhelming positive sentiment points towards the excellent flavor and value of the core Jamaican offerings—particularly the Jerk Chicken, Oxtail, and Ackee & Saltfish. As an established part of Brooklyn’s culinary scene, Flava remains a highly recommended spot for a true taste of the Caribbean.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1So where do I start 🤔 it's so disgusting eating at a place for the first time. This is what you serve for a LARGE you have to be ashamed of yourself, serving food that's not even what we ask for. If I ordered Large Meal, Why are you serving me a small order . Ackee and saltfish don't even have no saltfish clearly in the picture..Then you giving us so much rice with small saltfish order, are you guys okay in that restaurant smh.Iam so disappointed..I'm definitely getting a Refund for my order. ANYONE eating here good luck with that..NEVER AGAIN.. DONT SUPPORT BUSINESS LIKE THIS, SO DISGUSTING HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE SPENIDING MONEY FOR A MEAL THEY DESERVE..
August 20 · loraBest Jerk chicken I have had so far. Rice and Peas (pigeon peas) awesome. And they give you vegetables and plantains. Amazing portion for the price
June 22 · Christopher YangMhmm this place is decent, the food definitely isn’t anything grand or something I would make a special trip for. However it was good to have this place not too far from where I was at, the staff was not friendly or willing to explain what they had or what something was. I had corn and it was dry and you can tell it had been sitting for way too long it was stale..
September 28 · NAQUARN CHARLEMAGNEFoood is decent. Use to eat from here all the time but the customer service is very poor. Today is my first day going back there since idk how long and I find a maggot in my food. This sales associate gonna say it just a bug from the vegetable as if that’s normal then proceed to walk away from me while I’m talking. Please don’t eat here today is definitely my last time supporting this establishment.
September 14 · Shakiesha JohnsonIf I could give this restaurant a zero I would, the customer service is very poor, everybody have an attitude, I would not recommend this restaurant, look at my food, I gave instructions that I didn’t want any potatoes salad, no meat is not even in the plate. This restaurant was one of my favorite but not again. They don’t follow instructions and they share people food like they are sharing it for dogs, this happens every time I order off Uber eats, I order with Uber from other restaurants and my food never looks like this. I will never order here again. The boss need to fire some a these people that work in there, your business is going down sir, they are giving your restaurant a bad image…..
