★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This matcha shop is actually located inside Hashi Market, not the address listed. You can order through their self-service kiosk or at the counter.I tried the Montblanc ice cream on a cone—great to hit that matcha craving. The string topping has a texture similar to mashed sweet potato, but in a good way. I’ll definitely go back to try their matcha drinks next time.
April 20 · Marie UThis little counter-style shop is located right at the entrance of a Japanese supermarket — very easy to spot. They offer a pretty wide range of menu items, but today I tried the Affogato Green Tea.The presentation was quite nice, but what truly impressed me was the flavor. The green tea was incredibly rich and intense — if you’re a matcha lover, you must try this. The matcha flavor is legit and super concentrated. However, one downside was the sauce poured over the ice cream. It had a hard, icy texture with no flavor, which threw off the overall taste a bit. I think it would be better if they changed it to something softer or more flavorful. That said, I’ll definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re a fan of good green tea!
June 19 · Nitiphum S.I tried the matcha ice cream while my friend opted for the black sesame. Personally, I preferred the matcha because its flavor is stronger and has that delightful bitterness that I love. The black sesame was alright, but it didn’t have a robust flavor; it tasted more milky than distinctly black sesame for some reason. In terms of texture, both ice creams were a bit icy and not as smooth as I’d hoped. I wouldn’t say they’re the best I’ve had in NYC, but they’re worth a try!
May 04 · Kaylie NgOn my way back to the office, stumbled upon this Japanese deli after seeing a huge matcha ice cream statue outside. Originally planned to get a matcha ice cream but saw that they had black sesame which I prefer over matcha. Ended up getting a black sesame soft serve on a black cone. It was delicious! The black sesame flavor wasn’t overbearing and tasted more like vanilla ice cream which I didn’t mind. The black cone was crispy and tasty. The place was very clean and the staffs were friendly. Will definitely be back to check out the entire place.
May 22 · Nicole KimI grabbed a hot matcha latte—smooth, earthy, and creamy with just the right balance of bitterness and sweetness. You can taste the quality of the tea. The setup is charming, with lanterns overhead and a wood-accented counter that makes you feel momentarily transported to Japan.Next time, I’ll try the matcha soft serve. But if you’re a fan of real matcha, skip the chains—this is the real deal.
